question
For those of you that traveled 6 hour and better away to have your surgery, what did you do for the ride home. I finally had a moment of brain power. I don't care what the insurance say now because if they say I can go to some where close then Ive got to start all over I at least have a Surgeon consult for next week and dietician and exercise consult all for the same day and 2 week later I have a Psyc eval scheduled. Instead of complaining I need to count my blessings. And so I shall

Audrey, most doctors will tell you that on the ride home they want you to get out of the car every 1/2 hour and walk for a short while. This is because of the dangers of blood clots developing when sitting for longer periods. My ride home was 45 minutes and my doctor WANTED me to get out of the car at the 1/2 hour mark also because of this possiblity. I didn't only because we had wind gusts of 30-35 mph that day and I was afraid of being pushed down or loosing my balance. You will be given instructions on what to do on the ride home but that is probably one of the things that he will tell you to do.
