I GOT APPROVED FOR SUGERY.....BUT

Got my approval May 9th after my appeal, then I find out my company closed the deal to be bought out by some one else on May 7th ....New insurance now, old insurance out the door as of midnight the 6th the good part about all this is the new insurer will cover bariatrics but it will cost me time once again! And it will cover 90% or I might even have the choice to do cobra so that would give me a primary and a secondary! Maybe no out of pocket expense to me at all! I knew this would not be easy

Hey Pam - This happened to me last year. I was approved then found out the Company I worked for sold our division. I was sooo upset. It all worked out, I did have to resubmit everthing but was able to get approved. Hang in there. It will happen. Christina

Thank you for your response......Do you remember how long it was to get approved after you resumitted? Was it a different insurance group that you had from the first?

Fortunately, I had the same insurance company... just a new policy number etc. I'm guessing it may have taken two additional weeks. I do remember the emotions that came along with not knowing what changes were going to happen with the new company and then having to go back threw the approval process was a stressful time. Hang in there.. it will happen. Christina

Maybe you can get the Doc to move the date up while you are still covered under the old insurance. I would push for that. Carla Klein
