IDPA help
WOW bulimia now that is funny. I was so hoping it would not take that long. I keep reading all the posts on how people have been approved in 1 week 2 weeks etc. that I was so hoping that it would only take 4 weeks at the most. I have been waiting for so long I just want it all over with so I can get my surgery and get on with my life
I do not know anything about IDPA but what I did w/ my insurance company.... I just called member services on the back of the card and they put me in contact w/ the nurse that was reviewing my case. I told her I was just following up to see if they needed any additional paperwork from me. I then provided the additional paperwork they needed and also followed up w/ a letter to her explaining the reason it was so important that I have this surgery.. ie, health, how my health and weight affected my marriage, family etc. work it up!
You need to call them. In my opinion, 4 weeks is too long to wait w/out at least talking to a live person.
Go for it!

Hi Christina,
Funny thing is I have called the Dr Kims office and the lady at riverside with no luck. Dr Kims office will be calling riverside for me tomorrow to see what is going on. I usually get a return call or email from Bev at Riverside but I have not lately. I figured someone would at least call me and say hey have not recvd anything yet we are still waiting and don't give up. I get impatient and maybe that is what I am doing now. Knowing that once I get the approval I can potentially have my surgery in 2 weeks. I have even called IDPA with no luck as I do not know who to talk to there and seems no one there knows who to transfer me to. So I thought maybe someone on here might know.
Thanks
Guess its depends on if they have all the necessaries...test,paperwork, etc...which mine did at the time except as I mentioned above...
The surgeon (I was told)had to get the report of date b4 I did. but, me having the email to the person who approved ...told me ahead of the surgeon...
Let me refrase what i wrote above
for the time of getting a date...once I got all the necessaries in , it was two weeks b4 I heard anything that i was approved and another week (give or take) of the actual date...
I wish I only had to wait 2 weeks. All my paper work and tests were sent in and all I have to do is wait. Lady at IDPA said today she could not help me the Dr had to call and then she told me that it just depends on how many people are working the approvals to how fast they get in the system.... GRRRRRRRRR
So Bev emailed back and told me that I should hear something by the end of the month. Ok one more week. She also said I would hear an answer before the Dr or herself would. So now I anxiously wait. I tell ya I hate to sit and wait for anything and all this does is make me more anxious.........lol
Thanks for everyones input
Well least you know its in the bag. sorta speak...and the wait is a terrible thing but knowing it wont be long would only make me more prepared....Its funny they told you differently then they did me. said doc would know b4 I would. But , I bugged them to death and guess only way to get me off their backs were to tell me b4 him hehe.....couple day after they told me , I think it was less then a week I got the letter.
