Need information about IDPA

I had BC/BS insurance through my husbands work,  but he is going to be off of work for awhile, so it is getting cancelled.  I am going to Dr. Joyce at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet for my 6 month weight program that I had to do for BC/BS, but found out today that  we will be getting IDPA, and Dr. Joyce's nurse  told me that they don't except IDPA.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I live in Dwight, Ill.  Does anybody know of a doctor that takes IDPA for the lap band surgery?  I'd appreciate the information because I'm really down in the dumps about this.  Thanks! 

I  know some doctors that take the IDPA but from what ive heard including from  my doctor they wont cover the lap band only the RNY Dont quote me on it I cant say for sure that thats what he told me. 

Wow, I am sorry to hear that as I too am having Dr. Lahmann, Dr Joyce for my surgery. I too am doing the 6 month diet, but I am doing the RNY. Its too bad they don't take IDPH, as I know they are awesome, and they are considered a Center of Excellence. I hope you find someone as I don't know if you would have to start that 6 month weight loss over, that would stink. I am wondering without calling everyone if you can find out from the IDPH. Hi I believe you are close to Kankakee and if you are contact Riverside and ask for Bev she can give you more info on which surgeons do lap band there. I also have IDPA and I am working with Bev at Riverside for my RNY. Here is the info Riverside Bariatric Center 815-935-3381 Good Luck
