So now what??

I am really chomping at the bit here.  I got the approval letter from Medicaid last week and faxed it to the doctor.  It took Medicaid 10 days to OK!!!  So now I wait.  I heard a nasty rumor though.  Maybe someone will know.  Are medicaid people done on a quota system?  I heard that if you have medicaid you have to wait quite a while.  If that is true that is really messed up. 

I sure hope not mines getting ready to be sent in for aproval.

That would depend on the Dr's office you use. I would bet that they dont do as many becuase I am sure they make far less on a medicaid patient, but I hope that is not the case. Good luck and hopefully we will see you on the loosing side soon

Well I can tell you what I learned at a recent seminar. Medicaid patients are one on quota by the Dr. some surgeons can do 4 month some can do 2. It all depends on how many insurance and self pay patients they have. The more they do with insurance and self pay the more Medicaid patience they do. But it is all up to your surgeon. You can always call and ask them. I know once my approval comes I have at least two weeks to get ready for surgery, unless something changes. I hope this info has helped. I would call your surgeon and ask before you get yourself worked up over nothing. Keep us posted.
