barix people??
Hello!
I had surgery at the barix in belvidere 3 years ago.
When they announced they were closing I made my annual appointment. I was told that I would get copies of all my surgery notes and the "list" of all the blood tests they do during the labwork stuff.
Well, I got my notes fine but nothing aobut the bloodwork, so I called again and was told oh sure we will mail it out to you...NOTHING.
So I called PA where Dr. Boe is now and said please just mail/fax/email whatever I need to get this list to my PCP...NOPE!
so does anyone have this list that they can mail.fax.email to me???
ugh...
this is very frusterating and my PCP wants it, I suggested that maybe they would talk more to him or his nurse and he said he would do that but WHY wouldn't they give it to me???
which makes me wonder>???
did anyone else have trouble???
thanks anyway!

Today I am missing
my Mom!
I STARTED THERE IN BELVIDERE, BUT DIDN'T MAKE IT FOR THE SURGERY! I HAD INSURANCE PAPERWORK THAT I NEEDED FROM THEM AND I NEEDED THE PAPERWORK FROM THE NUTRIONIST THERE AND RECIEVED NOTHING! THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING AFTER THEY WERE ABOUT TO CLOSE, THAT THEY WOULD SEND ALL MT PAPERWORK....NOT! WHO KNOWS WHERE IT IS NOW! I'M SORRY THAT I CAN'T HELP YOU. PAM
I was going to suggest that you have your current doc request the medical records because sometimes another doctors office carrys more weight in being able to get the information. The one thing about calling PA to Dr Boe's current office is that he may not own your file anymore and he does not even have access to it so you really will not get anywhere with him. Is there even anyone still at the Barix office anymore is a question I would have? And if there is do they even have access to the files. You might just be getting an answering service when you call there. I am just wondering if there is an ethics board you can go to for putting the strong arm on Barix?
What doc are you going to now for your annual WLS follow ups? If you change to a bariatric doctor that accepts patients of another (there are many out there that do) then that doc would know what bloodwork you should be getting now. Your PCP could consult with a bariatric doctor also.
That is about all the info I can suggest to you.

I was going to just use my PCP since he is "in" network and then I don't have to pay for it and he was game for that just wanted the list they said they would give to me.
No one is at Barix in Belvidere any more...
they jut made me really irritated after a visit and several calls and STILL nothing@@
OH ... the reason I didn't even set up a consult with a doc that was taking their patients was because I DIDN"T get that paper either@@
not too happy with barix at this point in my life!
happy weekend!

Dear Nic:
I almost went through Barix in Belvidere (much closer you know), but chose the UW Madison Bariatric program with Dr.s Garren & Gould instead. I am SO glad that I did. They are excellent! Thier number is 608-265-7090 if you would like to call them to see if they are taking former Barix patients.
I just got my 6 month labs back and here is what they took:
White Cell Count
Red Cell Count
Homoglobin
Hematocrit
MCV
MCHM
RDW CV
RDW SD
Platelet
Phosphate
Albumin
Alkphos
TOT 25-OH VITD
VIT D3
VIT D2
Ferritin
Folate
PTH-INTACT MOL
Prealbumin

I hope this helps!
