I'm so excited and nervous.  Worked all weekend at the hospital and am now officially off until first of August.  (Hospital won't let me work with a lifting restriction) Won't probably get a chance to check back in until after surgery now.  Spending Monday cleaning the house and packing my bags.  Moving the dog and myself in with my parents for a week.  My daughter will come join us Wednesday. (She'll be with her Dad until then) Will be spending Tuesday night in the hospital and come home home Wednesday.  Mercy Hospital has a computer for patient use so if and when I'm feeling up to it I will let you all know how I'm doing.  Laughed at my self on the way home today from work because I realized I hadn't bought alcohol pads to use for my heparin injections.  Now how often as a nurse do I give shots!! LOL Thanks for all your support and kind thoughts. Shelley P.S. I'm having my surgery at the hospital I work at and am going to be a patient on the floor I work on so my coworkers are already cooking up ways to get even. LOL

THAT WOULD BE TOUGH TO BE A PATIENT IN YOUR CO-WORKERS HANDS......DO YOU HAVE THE FEELING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO GET YOU!    WOW YOU ARE GOING TO GET LAP-BAND TOMORROW   HOW EXCITING!    WAS THERE ANY REASON YOU CHOSE THAT OVER BARIATRIC SURGERY?    OR JUST YOUR PREFERENCE?    GOOD LUCK                                                                                                                          PAM

Working with the bariatric community I have seen the Pro's and Con's to both and felt the Lap band was a better fit for me.

Shelley, I guess that I do not have to tell you that you are in very good hands both on the floor and with the doctor that is doing your surgery, you already know that. You take care and do not worry about being on the computer while in the hospital, just build your strength back up. Is there still a nurse on that floor that tall and lanky and she is of Greek background? She was my dicharge nurse and is a great gal. We also met up with her and a friend at the Sandwich fair two years ago, it was such a surprise.  Christine
