a newbie

i was wondering if anyone as dealt with healthlink open access 3 for approval for bypass surgery. i already have my surgeon and i have done the psych eval and nut consult and my surgery consult got my release from my pcp and lab work done the main thing i am worried about is if they want a 5 year history i have only seen my pcp for 1.5 years because i never had insurance before. any help would be great.

Hi there!  I'm not familiar with healthlink but wanted to welcome you to the IL Board.  Sounds like you're on your way.  You have a lot of the testing already out of the way.  Keep us posted.   I had open gastric bypass 8/30/06 and it has been the best decision I have ever made.  I'm so happy with the results.  I still have a long road ahead but very pleased. I started out at 404lbs the day of surgery and I'm now at 240.  I still have around 70lbs I would like to loose then I will re-evaluate the situation.  I have my goal set for 170 but honestly, I can't ever remember what it felt like to be 170 so I will decide once I get closer where my real goal will be.
