Saturday Roll Call

Newbies and lurkers come on in and join us and share with us what is going on in your life. I so love   to see the new faces on the board. How are ya all today? I will be finishing up the packing after our house guest leaves. She is in a room where I store our everyday clothing. We have a small house so we keep our everyday things we wear in our guest room. This way also we do not disturb the other person sleeping by turning a light on to look through a closet or dresser. Also one of our bedrooms is Dave's office  and all of his work related stuff occupies it.  Looks like it is going to be hot and humid today. Well, need to get out and do a walk or a bike ride. I will check back in later to see what is up with the rest of you. Smooches Christine

Good Morning Chris & IL- It's time to rise & shine and enjoy the weekend!   It has really been great to see so many new people on the IL board.  I'm already at work.  It is looking like I will be here most of the weekend.  I am going to take a break around 11 to head out to my hair appointment then swing by the house, take care of the girls then back to work  I go.  So, nothing too exciting going on here.  We will be shopping for a new lawn mower this evening.  I'm pretty sure ours bit the dust last night.  One darn strip to cut.  The neighbors are probably wondering what on earth are we doing now. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. Christina

Good morning!  I have been having OH withdrawls.  My computer and OH decided to have a disagreement..lol  I am back though.  Hot and humid here also.  Now we need rain, and they don't kow the next time we will get it.  We have been watering the yard, but the grass is still dead. I guess today I will finish my laundry, and then go play in the pool. *hugs to all*

Good Morning Chris & IL, This has been a crazy and hectic work week for me.  Still having the major foot pain and did not make it last Monday to the doctor, going this Monday at last.  I leave on Saturday for New York for a training class and return Wednesday evening.  I work Thursday and Friday and then it is off to England and Scotland for three wonderful weeks.   I am stressing big time between getting work done, shopping, packing and thinking about protein needs while away so I don't blow it and eat garbage.  Any suggestions for 5 days in New York in an over priced Times Square hotel ?  I am thinking protein bars, protein bars ??? Today I am going shopping, getting last minute odds and ends, want to start packing for the UK trip and laundry, cleaners and other fun things.   Chris-  I hope you have a great trip to the Dells, I love it up there, it is so restful and scenic.  Friends of mine used to own a hobby farm up in Reedsburg or LaVelle which is very close to the Dells.  The peace and quiet was amazing for the soul. Christina-  I will keep my fingers crossed for you on your  job interview.  I think you will do well, you have a wonderful personality which comes through even in a breif conversation with you.  You have done amazing things since your surgery, keep that in mind and you will have great confidence :-) I really believe selling ourselves is so important and the changes in us post surgery both internal and external, but especially the external, allow others to see what was always within us, but covered up by our weight.  Though never perfection we are all works in progress.  I am rooting for you :-) Everyone else- Stay cool and enjoy the weekend. Regards, Mary

Hi Mary - Wow, you have a lot on your plate girl.  I sure hope your foot pain does not keep you from enjoying your vacation.  Sounds like a wonderful trip and I trust you will have a great time.  Try not to stress, boy... did that just come out of my mouth?? LOL...  I stress about everything including the upcoming interview.  I really appreciate the pep talk and words of wisdom you shared.  You're right.  I feel so much more confident then I did a year ago so I'm hoping that I shine like a star on Tuesday. Geez..  I'm not sure about the five days in New York.  Does the room have a mini-fridge?  Have any idea if you will be close to a grocery store?  I could live on tuna and melba toast crackers.  I also like the "bear naked all natural granola peak protein" I mix it with my Dannon Light yogert for breakfast.  It's Yummo.  There's the sausage or peperoni mini bites that do not have to be refridgerated but they are probably high in fat.  I don't really know.  I have not tried protein bars post op.  When I was doing Atkins I got hooked and I mean really hooked on low carb bars so they scare me to death.  I just don't trust myself.  It's a trigger that could send me into a downard spiral so I just have to stay clear.   Have a great day and I so hope the pain in your foot goes away. Christina

Oh, you have a grandson that helps with stage production. That is a real coincidence because my DH and I are part of the production/programming team at our church, Willow Creek.  Funny you mention the Christ in my name. My folks named me Christine because I was born in the month of June which in the Catholic faith is the month of Christ.  Your surgery date will come faster than you think. July 10th is just around the corner. CB

Small World.  Your church does alot of volunteer projects for us.  One of our ministries is our shelter where we work with families, and single women and men.  This past Christmas I had the honor of working with some of the Willow Creek folks.  They volunteered to help me with our Christmas party.  What a blessing they were.  Willow Creek always sends us many goodies to pass out to our single people who dont have any family to speak of.  Of course I spent alot of time taste testing lol.

Yes, this is such a small world. I am glad that Willow can be of assistance to your shelter. Keep up the good work yourself using your gift of mercy with the families in need. Chris
