post op complications

Hi I was wondering if any of you had any major complications? I hear that people over 3 years out have a lot of complications and even more past the 6yrs post op mark. Is this true for most? Let me know as well as any other advice you may have? Thank you so much for your time in advance for reading and replying on this.

my surgeon said that I was already past the stage of major complications. I am am almost 2 1/2 months out!

Hi Liz - I have had absolutely no complications post op but I'm only 10mo out.  Can't answer your questions in regards to long term since I really don't know.  Christine B. just celebrated 4yrs and to my knowledge, she and her husband neither one have had any problems. Just make sure your taking your vitamin supplements and seeing your surgeon, having your blood work drawn and you should be fine.   Congratulations on taking this step to a healthier you.  I wish I had known or been able to do something about my weight problem at your age. Liz, That is not true!!!!! I am over 5 years out and I have been more healthier than I have been all my life. I get nauseated once in a while and get a migraine or 2 once in a while but that goes with the flow of the weather. Carla Klein Bradenton Florida

I had rny 03/30/04 and had a small bowel obstruction and internal hernia that was operated on 10/26/06.  I had both surgeries at Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village but live in Skokie.  I got a wound infection after that and had to be on antibiotics for 3 weeks.  I went ahead with abdominoplasty/panniculectomy 03/23/07 because I needed to have female surgery so I had everything done at once, that also got infected and I still have a small wound I'm being treated for.  I again was on 3 weeks of antibiotics.  Have you had or scheduled surgery?
