BCBS Uncontrolled Co-morbidities

Hello,  I just got denied for surgery because they said that I have no proof of uncontrolled co-morbidities.  I said that I have co-morbidities but they are controlled. Have any of you gotten this response from the ins company? If so did you eventually get approved or what happened.  My doctor is going to file an appeal but I am getting really nervous that this is just not going to happen.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Thanks! Kelly

Are you being treated by a physician for your co-morbids? And if yes has it been charted with your doctor? I would start with your PCP office for copies of your chart(s) if you have more than one doctor for these issues. That is about all that comes to mind for suggestions. Christine

They have the five year history with the charting.  I just really think that they are being difficult.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hi Kelly - Don't give up hope.  That's what the insurance companies want you to do, walk away quietly.  Keep fighting the battle, I know it's hard but you can do it! Hang in there. Christina
