Diabetes and Lap Band

 I was wondering how Lap Band surgery affects diabetes?   Did anyone who had the surgery have diabetes and was it controlled or eliminated? Thanks Dolores

Hi Dolores - It's my understanding a lot of people that have lap band or gastric bypass are able to get the diabetes under control after surgery.  It's typically controlled with weight loss and diet.

I have Type 2 Diabetes, and have so far lost 4 lbs on pre op diet.    My blood sugar levels are so much better already.  I am still on my blood pressure meds.  Good Luck to you.....  Babbs
