Carla, I thought you wouldn't even wear a one piece swimsuit. Sorry for the misunderstanding. That's why I felt bad for you. At least you are wearing a one piece! I can't imagine not wearing a bathing suit (one piece) at this stage of the game. Lucy

Morning Christina and all ... good luck on the interview results ... be sure to let us know!  Nothing exciting on this front.  Just passed my 45th birthday and 4th year post-op the last two weeks and I feel like I should "have it all together" ... but I definitely don't.  Still working on it though.

My sister in law is having plastics tomorrow (Fenner/Highland Park Hosp) ... she didn't have WLS (3 caesarians) ... but is having a tummy tuck and a couple other things ... so I'm going to try to spend the day up there.  I'm in the phase of gathering info about plastics for myself, but then I guess when I start going that direction, I will definitely have written off any thoughts of having a family (which, right now is killing me).  SO ... guess I still have a ways to go. Hey Lucy (aka Brandi) ... you're going to have to show us some of your stuff next week! Karyn

Hi Karen - Happy belated birthday and congrats on your four year post op anniversary.  Do we ever really have it all together?  We are all a work in progress.

I hope all goes well for your sister in law.  I'm not close to being ready for plastics but will be going to a free seminar that my surgeon is hosting this week.  I figure it can't hurt to get prepared.  I'm sorry you’re struggling with having a family.  I've never had children; I do have two step daughters and a granddaughter by marriage.  My husband has hep c and was on treatment for a year.  We were advised that we would have to wait a year before we considered having children because the treatment is a form of chemo.  Unfortunately, the treatment did not take and he will be starting another 18mo treatment soon and then we would have to wait a min of 12mo after that.  I just don't see it happening.  Something else I had to turn over to my higher power. I'll certainly let everyone know when I know something about the job opportunity. Take Care, Christina

Hi Karyn. Yeah I could see myself doing the moves on Bill! He'd get a kick out of it.  I'm getting very naughty with my new self. Wait until I get my face done... OMG! See you on Monday! Hope you are recovering well from GB surgery. Hugs, Lucy  - smiling from my Vegas trip!

good morning everyone! i am officially one week out from my lap band surgery 6/18. i am on full liquids which is mildly torturing as they go through the band and into my stomach with out restriction, so it feels like i'm just startving myself a little bit. but i am sticking to the plan the nutritionist gave me.  the last time i was weighed by dr. rantis at the kane center was a few days before surgery and i was 336.5. today i am 318.2!!! that is awesome and very motivating. i am also very hungry. yesterday i took a can of chunky beef soup and put it in the food processor until it was a creamy  consistency (as i can have cream soups) and that really helped my craving. i have been fighting off the urge to chew food and spit it out. now that is passed, thankfully. i am getting in enough water and not yet enough protein. i ordered some new proten powder that should come in a day or two. i have my  one week follow up with dr. rantis tomorrow afternoon. ALL IS WELL! :) thanks for the support and accountability everyone! bridget

Bridget - Congrats on your weight loss so far.  Wow, you are doing great.  I had my surgery on Jan. 31 and as of Friday, have lost 50.2 lbs.  It is a great feeling.  This first couple of months are tough - as you heal and the swelling goes down, the more hungry you are and there's no restriction.   Be strong.  It is worth it.  Have a great week. - Lauri

I am home and dragging butt. We played hard last week. Got a nice tan out of the whole thing also. I am in the middle of doing some laundry, need to fly and finish that so I can just lounge for the rest of the late afternoon and evening. CB
