Question.....
Hi.. I had GBS 2 yrs ago in April.. for about the last 1 1/2 yrs I had
been telling the dr that things didnt seem like they were working right
in my belly/pouch. Well I was telling my primary physician about it..
because I can eat and be hungry like 30 minutes later.. and she ordered
an upper GI with barium..
Well I went for that today, and the radiologist(sp??) told me he doestn
know a whole lot about how its supposed to work, but that as soon as
the barium hit my pouch.. it was immediately going into the small
bowel. Its not staying in my pouch at all. Granted, I know its a
liquid.. but shouldnt it linger around in there for a little bit? This
barium was the thicker stuff at first... then I got to drink a thinner
type.
So my question is... if this is NOT normal(like I said.. i've been
dealing with this since about 6months out) would this be considered a
revision type of thing to correct it or can it be corrected? Also I
have the illinois medical card, so if it can be corrected, would they
pay for it? I'm totally in the dark and would like some help if there
is any out there. Also, would that hinder my weight loss? I havent lost ANYTHING since i was about 9-10 months out... and have gained 30 back..
Thanks in advance!!
Lora
Hi Lora, I really don't know the answers to your questions. Will you be forwarding the results to your surgeons office? They should be the one to tell you if a revision is necessary. Several people on the IL board have the IL medical card and see Surgeons at the University of Chicago. Don't give up the fight, you know your body best and if you don't feel right then there probably is a problem. Glad you posted, don't be a stranger, there is a lot of great support on this board.
