just approved!!

Hello everybody!  I have posted a few times here in the past. I mostly just come to the website and browse through what everyone has to say.  I started looking into lapband the beginning of January this year.  I found a doctor, when through all the initial visits, he sent in my info, and just a few days ago I got my approval letter from insurance.  From what I have read, I am very lucky to have made it through the process this fast.  The doctor is supposed to be calling me back this week with a surgery date.  Probably the beginning of August.  Everybody else at work are taking vacations at some point throughout July.  Okay, so I have a few questions.  I noticed a few of you have a Dr. Rosen as your doctor.  Is he in the same office as Dr. Rossett?  I thought I recognized his name.  Either way, does anybody know anything about Dr. Rossett?  That is my doctor, by the way.  And also, after the surgery, can you drink alcohol?  I know the dietician said it was in my best interest not to because of the dehydration factor, etc....   But I only drin****asionally, maybe 3-4 times a year.  So, do any of you drink alcohol after having had the LapBand?  I guess that is all I have for now.  Hope to hear from somebody soon!! Dawn, first and foremost congradulations on your apporval and pending surgery.  You are on your way to a wonderful new life. No, Dr Rosen is not in the same office as a Dr Rossett. He is in a practice called Life Weigh Bariatrics and their ad is in the lower left corner of this page. Dr Rosen's partner's name is Dr Iwanicki. I am sorry I do not know anythig about Dr Rossett, this is the first time I have heard his name. Now, as far as drinking alcohol this is something that you need to discuss with your doctor and find out what s/he expects of you as a PO. Many here drink alcohol, myself included but many of us are pretty far out and have cleared it already to do so. And you are correct about the dehydration factor and the affects alcohol has on the body.  Christine
