Hello Everyone I am home and I am tired.......I had to stay an extra day and because they had some trouble getting my heart beat under control........ I am have constant diarreah and sweating.......(they did stop my premrin 4 weeks ago)  I do hope the diarreah gets under control.  I still have a drain that I hope they take out when I see the Dr on Tuesday.   My little dog was so glad to see me that I do not think he has left my side....... I want to thank Lucy and Chris for taking the time to come and see me and put me at ease about so much.  I was able to ask any questions and they answered me. I am going to go lay down........... Thanks Shannon

Shannon, you are welcome it was my pleasure to come up and see you. I had the runs also until I had more solid food going in me. I was told water in = water out. This too will pass my dear. The tiredness will pass eventually. Take naps when your body says that you need one. It is the anesthesia that is in your system and it will be there for several weeks. Christine

Hi Shannon! Good to hear from you.  I had just the opposite problem, was really, really constipated for a long time.   Don't be afraid to call the Doc if your diarrea persits. I'm sure you will feel better once the drain is out.  I was sent home with one as well and it wasn't fun, but came out at my first post-op visit. Just be asurred that every day will get a little bit better :-)
Regards and hugs,

Ronna

Hey Shannon, I do not post on this board much - but wanted to let you know that I am in Springfield also and am almost a year post op. If there is anything you need, or just want to be able to call someone that is local - do not hesitate to touch base with me. I am glad you are home and are doing well your first week! Just email me and I will give you my number if you would like. Take care Patty

Hi Shannon. If you are only taking in juices and broth, that is why you are having diarrhea like stools. My first week was just like that. I even had an accident in my bed on the first day I was home. I had to change my bed and that was so difficult being my first day home post-op. Juices although unsweetened still have sugars in them. I'm not sure why you are sweating other than the heat. Oh the famous drain. I got that out on my first visit. Actually the nurse took it out during my appointment with Dr. Guske.

I'm glad that I was able to answer your questions and enjoyed our visit last Saturday. Your doggie Copper missed you so much.

Hope you will be feeling better soon.

Hugs,Lucy
