Good morning boys and girls of the IL board. Well, the anticipation at my work will be high today with the fest opening tonight.  The detectives will go over at about 1pm and inspect all the carnie games to make sure they are legit. We have shut games down in the past. Not too many times but it has been done.   I rode my bike over there yesterday evening to see the set up etc.Everything was like it is each year, beer/entertainment tent,  midway, carnival, games, food etc all in the same areas. It is going to be a little chilly willy tonight. I will need to bring a light wrap in my bike basket. It usually is a light sized crowd on Thursdays because mostly local people are there due to the night of the week.  It attracks people from the other areas on the rest of the days because of people having the week ends off. I will tell you what my work atmosphere is like on Monday morning after the fest, it is totally different, night and day. That probably will give you a clue. Anything special planned coming up today or in the next few days? Come on in and say "Hey"  & Christine

Girl, I am very excited. I know that you will get through your homework with flying colors. When I did my practice diet for 3 months I was so totally amazed at myself that I could begin a lifestyle change and stick with it. I guess it is the person being able to finally see a light at the end of a tunnel. Christina, Calvin and the girls are due back today. Miss Lucy really surprised all of us with her announcement last night. She is in very good hands with our PS. Dave and I were very fortunate in that we never had any seroma. I had one in '93 but not like what she is going through. I just had to have my incision opened up about an inch to drain. Need to fly and do a few things before leaving for the fest. Chris

Good Morning Illinois! Thank you for inviting me Christine! I am working today, then going to "Family NIght" at YMCA Camp where my son is an apprentice counselor.  We will have dinner with him, watch him work a bit with "his kids" then kiss him good night as he is staying with them for their overnight. Olivia (my 11 yr. old) is coming home from Girl Scout camp tomorrow.  She has been gone since Sunday and it will be good to see her.  She loves going to camp. This weekend, we are hoping to work on the baby quilt that we are doing for our neighbors' first baby.  A few of our neighborhood families are getting together to make squares for a quilt.  We are going to paint pictures on the fabric.  It should be fun. I will be going for my first iron infusion on Monday, and I may have jury duty on Tuesday, so I will let you all know how it went when I return. Everyone have a wonderful day and keep up the good work!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hello fellow Illinoians!!  I's still new to the board, but I feel such a great sense of support here.  Thanks for that! I've got a 2 year old and 11 month old that keep me on my toes all day long. Today I have an old friend from school coming over, so it'll be interesting to see how the babies react to her.   Christine, which fest are you talking about?   The weather is wonderful. very fresh, I really do not like the humidity and my kids can't be outside for more than 15 minutes, their poor little faces turn super red, I'm always afraid they're going to get a heat stroke. Alright Illinoians, have a great and prosperous day!!!

Congratulations on coming through the surgery so well.  It's not that uncommon for people to have a weight gain after this type of surgery.  Don't worry it'll all come off soon.  Besides all the IV fluid you received while in the hospital one of our bodies natural tendencies to the kind of trauma we just put our bodies through is to retain fluid.  Usually lasts anywhere from 48-72 hours(Of coarse everyone is different so can't give an exact time).  Then watch out for the flood gates to break. LOL Shelley

Ginny, I read your message this morning but could not respond at the time. I know the feeling of the weight gain in the hospital. I came home 30# heavier. My legs, feet and hands were so swollen that I called my legs my "tree trunks" or sometimes "sausage legs". My feet were so swollen going home from the hospital that I had to wear my slide on slippers. I have some pictures around the house of my legs. My skin was so tight and stretched that they were shiny. It will come off. I promise you. It took me about 2 weeks and I also lost by the time of my first PO apt, I think about 18#. Have faith my dear. Christine

How did the little ones react to your friend? Hopefully you have had some relief from the humidity where you are at. Our temps are fantastic right now. As I write this it is 78 at 345pm. Christ
