Friday Roll Call

Hello IL. 'tis almost the weekend. How sweet is that? Had a great evening at the fest. My niece and her two boys came up. I had gotten a ticket for unlimited times on all the rides for each of them. They had a blast. It is just too bad mom and I have to work today. I am pretty proud of myself because Dave and I shared both of our food choices and I even brought home the majority of one of them. I always take a plastic sack for leftovers. We both have a part of a sandwich for lunch later today.  Anyone have any special plans for later today, tonight or this weekend? yep I have some different plans tonight. There is going to be a hot air balloon event going on starting at 7. At about 9 there will be a lantren light show. Where they will all group up and it will look like lantrens in the sky. Followed by fireworks. Tomorow they will be in the sky all day with the same shows as to night after 7pm. So thats my plans. Karen, your evening sounds SO wonderful! What a neat thing to be doing. Dave and I went for a ride in a hot air balloon probably about 20-25 years ago. I will never forget how that felt to be basically gliding through the air. I know that you are keeping your feet on terra firma but if you ever get the chance go for a ride. It is so peaceful up there.  Christine

Hello IL! I am working all day, then my husband will go pick up Olivia from camp, we will meet here and Olivia & I will go get David from his camp.  Todd is going to a concert at Beloit's Riverfest so me and the kids will be on our own.

We may grab a bite and head to the new Harry Potter movie, or we may wait for that until tomorrow with daddy.  I guess it will depend on how Olivia is feeling.........she is usually wiped out after a week at camp. Everyone have a wonderful day.....Friday the 13th is always my lucky day!

It's work for me today and tonight I am going to join the health club affiliated with one of the local hospitals.  I called the other day to find out their current rates and found out that their registration charge which is normally $350 is only $25 for the month of July!  What a deal - so I took that as a sign that I have to join!   So tonight's the night - I am going straight there from work and signing up before I procrastinate too long. Tomorrow I am helping a friend at an art show in Wheaton and on Sunday I am taking a road trip with two girlfriends to Peoria to see the "Dancing With The Stars" show on tour.  We were such fans of the show so we are looking forward to seeing them in person.   That's it for me. WHAT A DEAL WITH THE HEALTH CLUB MEMBERSHIP. Snatch that puppy up right away. Peoria, now that is a town I really like. Love the street/road that overlooks the IL river. The homes are fantastic to look at also.  There are some fantastic restaurants in downtown Peoria. I know that you are working on the food issue. There is a pricey one called Jimmy's. It is a steak house. There are also neat warehouses that have been converted into boutiques and antique places. Enjoy. Christine

I love your daughter's name. I don't want to say old fashioned in a bad way but it is. It is neat that so many of those names are coming back into vogue/fashion. I have a guy I work for that has twins, Gabriella and Isabella.  I do not put much stock in superstions with the Friday the 13th stuff. My day did start out kind of lousy. I was tired from taking Tylenol PM last night because my knees hurt from all the walking at the Fest. I wake up so groggy from it. I am better now.  Have a great weekend with your family. Sounds good anyway that you end up spending time together. Sometimes just chilling together is as much fun as going out and hitting all the "events" that you would like to go to. Christine

Hello All I am 2 weeks out today!!  My one wound is healing nicely.  I am going to try to go to the homeless shelter as I usually do, but have not gone since my surgery........... I am going to wash and cut my furbaby,,,,,,,,,,,a pomeranian tomorrow. P.S. I have now lost 14 lbs Shannon

Shannon, great job on the weight loss, you go girl. I love lap dogs. I really miss having a pet, but not enough to go out and get another one. It still hurts that we had to put our Meggie to sleep on Feb 11th. I miss her so much and still imagine "hearing" and "seeing" her in the house. Now, I started to cry. I still think that she is going to come walking into the kitchen when I come downstairs in the morning. She was such a peanut, only about 8# but she still made the wood laminete floor creak when she walked. ON THE OTHER HAND I do not miss cleaning the cat box even though she had a Litter Maid box (auto cat box) and worrying about her when we went away for a weekend. Chris
