Good Morning IL - I'm back safely and glad to be home.  Thank you all again for your prayers.  Amanda (my stepdaughter) is home with us for a few weeks and is doing fairly well.  Another prayer request needed.  My step-fathers father past away last night.   Today is my first day back to work only to find out that the company I work for is having financial problems and no overtime is permitted and they are talking layoffs.   Please stop the roller coaster.  I have to get off!!

Not sure what exactly we will be doing this weekend but would like to do a little something special with the girls.  My neice is also visiting with us for a few weeks.  Any suggestions??   Have a great day everyone! Christina

Can you spell resume?  Suggestions? Do you and the family want to meet with us at ItascaFest? We will be there for the rest of the weekend.  There are a lot of things to do in downtown Chgo if you want to go there. You can drive to a  'burb that has a train to downtown and that takes the stress out of driving there. There is also shopping. You are not too far from the outlet mall in Aurora or Fox Valley. DuPage county fair is coming up July 25-29. Bicycle trails in DuPage, Kane County Cougars, Schaumburg Flyers, Brookfield Zoo, Navy Pier, Segway tours in downtown (We are doing that next month), Cantigny Park, did I say shopping?, Medival Times in Schaumburg, http://www.dupagecvb.com/attractions/attractions_list.cfm I am sure that I could come up with more to do. How about the Han**** observatory? I think it is much better than Sears Tower because you are right over Navy Pier and the lake front which in my opinion is a better view. There is also the Chicago Botanical Gardens in I believe Glencoe or Glenview. You can take her to the Renesance Faire just over the border of IL/WI. We had a blast there last year just walking. They have great food, do not get me wrong. Dave and I shared everything we had and really did not pig out. We were really sensible with our eating there. We also saw our dentist who is a friend of ours there with his church group.  That is just a few of the things you can do. Chris

Thanks for all the suggestions!  Wow..  to think I did not get to read this post until this morning and still was able to meet up with you and Dave at the ItascaFest.  Thank you for your hospitality, as always, you and Dave know how to have a great time. Big Hugs Christina

We had a great time also. We are still talking about it. How are you on the PC, I thought you are missing a monitor? I still cannot believe I went on that ride. Your niece probably can talk anyone into things, she has a great personality. Your step daughter is such a sweet girl also. She seems a little more on the quiet side but she eventually warmed up. Both of the girls are beauties. You and Calvin are going to need to keep the boys away.  Chris

I worked early this morning while the girls were still sleeping.  Since I was out four days this week, my boss allowed me to work today to make up some of the time.  I've now been out to best buy to get another monitor. Hope your having a fun day.  We are having absolutely gorgeous weather today. Kealie is quite the talker and Amanda is a little on the reserved side but she of course can get rowdy around her girlfriends.  Trust me, the boys thing is a concern of ours.  She has a "friend" she talks to back home and he was supposed to have lunch with us before we left MD but he was a no show.  That put a bad taste in our mouths.  Christina

Good afternoon everyone. I just came home from Peoria and meeting with my surgeon. I really don't know anything new except Dr. Rossi said he thought I should be able to have my RNY as a lap!  YEAH!!  That's exciting.  Also my mom went with me and she seems more at ease and comfortable with me having the surgery.  As for my plans..... I have to work all weekend, so I'm off tonight, but still work Sat and Sun. Talk again soon,
