Saturday Roll Call

Hello IL. I am a little late this morning. Had a great time at the fest last night. Christina P, her husband, niece (Kailee I know I spelled it wrong) and daughter (Amanda) met up with us. We had a great time. They got there at about 730ish. I found them in front of all the food booths trying to make a decision on what to get. We found a table and chairs away from the band where we could hear each other and hold a conversation. The girls ate and then wandered the carnival and won some stuffed toys. Christina, Kailee and I walked the carnival then and the little one talked myself and Christina into going on one of THOSE  rides  that swings you back and forth. You go up almost what seems like to the the point of being catapolted out of the ride. I guess it is close to 90 degrees each direction that it swings you. The little one had her head buried in my shoulder for most of the ride but she got through it. I have to admit, I screamed too. I had my eyes closed especially when you were all the way up one side and about to go down. Wow, weird sensation. That is the first time in 17 years that I have been going to the fest that I ever stepped a foot on a ride. It was really great to talk and catch up  with Christina especially since she was not at support group in early July due to being on vacation. The guys caught up with one another also and one of our neighbor couples walked by and it was one big conversation  for a while with everyone almost talking at once. Gotta love it. That is what life is all about being with people you know and love. Well, Dave and I are going to his doctor's pre surg seminar this morning to give the PO perspective to the new patients.  I will come home and he will go onto church to serve lunch to the stage team and then he will stay to usher at the service. I am going to futz around the house for a while and then wander over to the fest and walk to my hearts content and get some good vitamin D in the form of sunshine, hopefully.  Well, need to get moving  & Christine

Hi all, I got home Thursday had a pretty bad night mostly a headache that I cant seem to get rid of.  It comes and goes but gets really bad at nite.  I am holding on to alot of water in fact I gained 22 lbs in the hospital from IV.  The wont let me take a diureti****il maybe monday.   I am finally almost feeling a little normal this morning.  Boy do I give you all who have gone before all the respect in the world.  This surgery is not for the faint of heart.  You have to be prepared.  I am lucky that I had you all to prepare me.  I am trying desparately to get in all of my water and protein.  It is an all day job. Got any ideas about this water buildup or the headaches? Ginny

Ginny, are you having withdrawal from caffeine? That always gives me a horrible headache. The water build up will eventually leave, it may take about a week but when the flood gates open be near a potty. Getting the water and protein in and it taking all day is normal. Christine

Good Afternoon my IL Friends - We did have a fantastic time last night ChristineB and her hubby Dave.  First time in many years that I have been on any kind of amusement park ride.  If you are bored this weekend, check out the Itastcafest.  It was a really nice time and the weather is delightful.   I worked early this morning to make up for some of the time I was out this past week.  I bought a new monitor at Best Buy on my way home.  I'm heading out for a bicycle ride with the girls here in a few minutes.  It's too nice to be inside. Ginny:   Welcome Home.  I really don't have any suggestions on the reataining of water or headache.  Just remember, this too shall pass.   I sure hope everyone is out and about enjoying their weekend.   Christina
