Sunday Roll Call
Hello everyone in IL and any visitors that might pop in. I think it is going to be another glorious day here in the northern area of the state.
Hopefully other areas will enjoy pleasant weather also.
Yesterday's roll call did not have many people come in and chit chat
so I am going to guess that many of you were busy with family/friend things. That is great, relationships are everything! You gotta have people in your lives that support you.
Last day of ItascaFest
It has been a great run this year for our local Lions Club who sponsers it. Great turn out. Tonight the group that ends the fest is American English, a Beatles retro group. I think they start somewhere around 8pm. From what I understand this group basically got their start in Itasca and they have a LARGE following. I sat and talked to some of my neighbors for close to 2 hours yesterday afternoon and it was wonderful.
Well, need to get some more of the shrubs watered and a couple loads of laundry done. I will check back later.

Christine

Hi Chris and everyone else in Illinois!
Good Luck again tomorrow Jason Our prayers will be with you during your surgery! 3:00PM Right?
Chris, it sounded like you and Christina had a really good time yesterday! Good weather for that fest this weekend!
So tell me, at events like this .....how difficult is it to watch the eating? I notice that you have mentioned many times Chris, that you and Dave share! so is that a plan that works for you? Just checking! Any other ideas to share on that subject Illinois? Just planning ahead! Pam
Pam, at ItascaFest we have to share because they do not have smaller "taste portions". There are a lot of protein rich items at the food vendors for our event. There are the trashy fried things also. We have never gone away hungry. Dave and I will each say what we would like to try next and then we agree on it is that person's turn to choose the food. When we are there for 4-5 hours we will choose 2 items one of each person's choice and we eat that. Last night when he got there after church Dave choose the chicken kabobs, they were great. The first day I choose a pork chop on a stick, it is always fantastic. Now there are times that one or the other does not want anything so I always have plastic bags in my fanny pak so we can carry the left overs home. You are always going to have times that your eyes are bigger than your belly. You will find this when you are PO. That will always be with you. Your lifestyle changes do not come overnight. It has taken us a long time to get to this point. Now, Dave and I have very diverse tastes. Like he likes lamb and liver and they are not my favorite things. If he says here try this liver it is perpared so well, I will but it is not my favorite. It took us a long time to make this one of our lifestyle habits. I read, read, read and listen at support group. These are the places that I pick up most of my tips. The key to successful PO life is planning your food ahead, whether it be for home meals, your meals out or at work. It all takes time and effort and I will also say that it is so worth the time and effort that I put into it.

Good morning all-it is a grand day here indeed Christine. I have to go shopping for a few basics and then over to CDH to visit Baby Lincoln. He just got transferred yesterday and I can't wait to see him. Later my hubby is going to grill some ribs and I will do sides. Mostly just chill. It's good to see Christina home again. Entertaining girls can be a chore-I had four and it seemed like one of the was always whining about something! Good luck tomorrow Jason- my prayers will be with you. Enjoy the last day of your fest Christine and a good day to all-Janet K
