Mount Zion or Decatur people?? Introduction of me :)

Just wondering if there was anyone from Decatur or Mount Zion here??  Hi, I'm Lori. I'm hoping to get my ducks in a row and do gastric bypass by next summer. I'm still looking into all the physicians that do this around here. I've only found two. Dr. Weber and Dr. Rohrscheib. I'm a teacher, so next summer is a great time for me to do it. It's maybe feasible if I can get my insurance provider to cover it. I will be 40 in 2008 and I'd love to get a handle on my weight problem. I know I'm ready for this next step.  I went with the username Fraser, b/c it's my maiden name and Lori's were taken. I hope to get to know all of you! Lori

hi, lori!  i'm about 20-30 mins from you..my best friend just recently moved to lake shore in decatur..i was just there yesterday (at the joann fabrics out by forsyth).   i'm having my surgery done in springfield (hopefully), though..dr hammer.  i've heard good things about him...and until a couple of months ago, was unaware that i would be able to have WLS done closer to home!!  nice to meet you..and hope to talk more here...

I have only heard of Dr. Weber and Dr. Rohrscheib for the surgery.  Is Dr. Hammer in a group? How would I find him on the web? Nice to meet everyone!!

HI Lori-- I am in Decatur and I had the lap band done on 12-5-06 by Dr. Rohrscheib.  He is a man of few words but I am very pleased that I had him do it.  I have had no problems and I have lost 94 lbs so far.  You can email me and I would be glad to talk to you some more. Good Luck- Val

Hi Lori! A Decatur girl here. My husband had his surgery in April in Peoria with a surgical group up there, but I had mine done with Dr. Timothy Bailey and he is out of DMH. I really liked him and have another friend that had bypass with him. Only problem is that he only does open RNY, so if you are looking for lap your better off with Rohrscheib. I have another friend who went with him and is doing great as well. Good luck on your journey!!  BTW, I'm only 3 weeks out so I'm still a newbie at all this. Gerri
