GM one and all. Well, it is a little dreary here near Chgo. Had some sprinkles overnight but not even enough to get the driveway wet under the trees. According to weather.com we are supposed to get almost an inch. Hope it does not all run off and it soaks into the dirt.  I got my nap in early yesterday evening and also saw my TV show, so life is good. I am fairly refreshed and am ready to face the day. Dave is in Minneapolis so I can do as I please, YAAHOO.  I have a very boring week planned (actually no plans) other than getting my butt back out and doing some power walking or bike riding. With the weather threat as it is I will probably do one of my Leslie Sansone DVDs after work. Well, come on in and give us the low down about what is happening in your world. Smooches Christine

Good morning Chris and Il board- Today I am taking the kids to "Pump It Up".  It's an indoor play land that everything is blown up like a moonwalk and the kids can just go wild.  It's in Crystal Lake, so we have to leave a bit early.  Other than that, no plans.  It is so dark here!  It's a little scary!  I watched Big Medicine last night also.  I find all that info very interesting!!!!  Well, better go and get busy around the house!  I hope everyone has a good day!!! HAHA, sorry not laughing at you. I can never remember the name Moonwalk, I always refer to them as a "Romper Room". I just looked at the radar and I can understand why it is so dark out by you because the weather system is rolling right over you.  Have fun, I am sure that the kids will have a blast. Christine

Well GM everyone.  I'm new, but thought I would jump right in and start getting to know others and letting them get to know me! Here it looks like it's going to pour which is okay, we really need the rain, even though the dogs hate it and are scared of thunderstorms.  I will be working all wee****il 3pm and then cleaning the house a little bit every day.  We have a birthday party planned this Saturday for 2 of my boys, even though it's really my birthday on Saturday!  Other than that, not much really planned.

Thunderstorms wooke me in the middle of the night and we've been getting a steady (but not downpour) rain all morning so far ... thank God, we need it (I've been REAL lazy abou****ering my lawn ... but I've been fixated on the food [some things never change I guess] -- my veggies ge****ered first!)  I'm just hoping some of this humidity will go away. I missed my support group meeting last night, but have another one tonight, and I do plan to get to that one.

I have been thinking more and more about bike riding ... so I might have to go to my folks (in Downers Grove) and pick up my "old" 10-speed -- I think I bought it in '76 and rode it perhaps 3 or 4 times?  I "think" I'm about the same height as I was in high school ... so I'm hoping it should still be the right size?

Anyway ... have a great day all ...

Good morning IL! I am off work today!!   YIPEEEE!!    I also went to Curves this morning to get back into my daily workout routine.    I haven't gone in 4 months so it was a little rough today, my legs feel a little "rubberized" today.    But it will get better,m so hopefully I will be in better shape when I have surgery, and have some reseves so I "hopefully" have a speedier and less eventful recovery. Other than that, my next 2 days are wide open... will just have to get caught up on the housework. Have a great day, and enjoy the rain!

Work today (bah humbug - well, at least it pays the bills).  Tonight after work when I get off the train I am going directly to the Wellness Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.  I joined their program on Friday and tonight will be my first official exercise visit.  I'm limited in what I can do since they need to get my doctor's ok in order to use the full facility.  So tonight I will probably just do the treadmill or something easy - I need to check in with the trainer on duty when I arrive and they will help me get started.  Once they receive my doctor's go ahead they schedule an appointment for an evaluation (feel sorry for the poor fool that needs to do that!) and then my plan is to get a personal trainer once a week or once every other week...depending on the bank balance.  Looking forward to this new routine in my life.  No matter how hard I try I can never stick with a program on my own and have always found going to a facility helps me to be more accountable.  I know I could walk around the block instead of going someplace to walk on a treadmill, but will I?  No.  Need to start out slow but hope to work my way up soon.  So that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!  Tomorrow I have my initial visit with the surgeon.  Oh my gosh...can this really be happening???!!!?? Oh and by the way, I found a protein drink that I thought was kind of yummy that I'd like to share if anyone is interested.  Ok, I'm going to share even if you're not interested!  It's called AchievOne and it is similar to the Starbuck's bottled drinks.  It comes in about 5 different flavors.  This morning for breakfast I had the Mocha Java and I poured it over shaved ice and I have to say it was enjoyable.  Never thought I'd use the word enjoyable to describe a protein drink, but there you go.  Go figure!  It has 20 grams of protein and I believe it was 120 calories.  I bought it at a store in Streamwood on Barrington Road called "Organica".  Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone (like me) is on a mission to find a decent protein drink.  If anyone has suggestions for protein drinks or bars I'd be happy to listen.  The bars i've tried seemed very gritty and not very appetizing.  Anyone know of any decent bars?? Hope everyone is having a good day despite the gloom.

Good afternoon everyone!  Drove my daughter to school today.  is was pouring like crazy and lots of thunder and lightening.  Left right after dropping her off  to drive into Downer's Grove to see Dr Rosen today.  I got my first fill today (1ml).  So needless to say back on thin liquids for the next 24 hours.  Told Dr. Rosen I had a hard time sleeping last night because I was nervous of getting my fill.  He gave me a hard time about it, so I gave it right back and told the reason I didn't get any sleep was because of my heart piter-pattering at the thought of getting to see him again.  LOL  His nurse and I had a great laugh.  All's going well since the fill.  Will see him again in 2 weeks.  I will be going back to work Aug. 1rst.  So I only have 2 weeks left to be a woman of leisure! :-(  LOL   Shelley
