Wednesday Roll Call

Good morning all. Not too much going here other than I need to drive to Oak Brook today for a 1pm meeting. It is better than driving through the construction zone on I-88 and going to Naperville where we usually have the monthly meetings. I am considering taking a change of clothing and going to Oak Brook Center and shop afterwards. I will get out of the meeting right at the height of rush hour and I hate driving on Rt 83 at that time of day. Actually, I think I just talked myself into that because I need to get out and walk and that is a perfect mall to do so IF it is not raining. For those of you outside the Chgo area, this is an outside mall. It is not under a roof, you go outside the door of the store and you are outside. Well, I got some bad news yesterday. My nephew in law that lives down the street from me; his brother died in a one vehicle crash on Sunday night. Doug was saying that it was more than likely a DUI. So we have a wake to go to on Thursday evening. We need to drive all the way to Sterling, IL which is about an 2 hr drive. The really sad thing about it is he left a 3 month old and wife behind. I was numb when Doug was telling me the story. Well, I need to get moving for work. Have a great day. Christine

Good morning Christine and Illinois!  Ohhhhhhhhhhm sounds like I would love that mall.  Our mall here is so sad, they say rent is too high, and businesses are moving out.  I usually end up in Fairview Heights, Illinois.   Send my thoughts and prayers to your nephew and family, that is so sad. I have a few questions about the Dells, so I will most likely be e-mailing you.  Thanks again for all the info on it. Dee

Fire away with your questions about the Dells. If I do not know the answer I will get it for you. Did not get to OBC mall. The traffic was light and I decided to head home and get an oil change in my car instead.  Chris

c-pap=continous positive air pressure. The wearer has a mask that delivers air pressure that keeps the airway open during the person sleeping. For Dave he would stop breathing close to 100 times an hour. You know the ole loud, loud X close to 100 snoring? He had severe sleep apnea and I am sure I had it but never was sent for a sleep study. I really should have had one, Dave said I sounded like a 747 going overhead. It is good that you are going for the study. It is important that it is addressed even this close before surgery because it is dangerous. Surgery does not automatically take it away. You need the addition of weight loss to lessen the severity of sleep apnea.   Chris

Good Morning all!!

Christine, I am so sorry to hear your bad news.  It is just shocking and I feel for the poor wife and mother.  Good thoughts are being sent your way. Today, I get to spend the whole day at work.  Between my medical visits and Olivia's ear problems, they've been calling me "part-timer" around here. ;-) Tonight, I have the final meeting for our festival "A Day in Rock City" that will be this Saturday.  We have to meet and figure out what vendors need to go where and tie up any last minute items.  I am in charge of the parade, and it is usually a busy, but fun day. I do hope you all have a lovely day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Sorry to hear about your family's loss.  That's very sad. I have my initial consultation with my surgeon today!!  I was so excited I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep so I got up, got ready and took an early train to the City today.  I figured I'd have some time to make up anyway because I'm sure this appointment will take up more than my 1 hour lunch time.   I went to the gym last night for the first time and just did the treadmill for about 40 minutes.  I have to admit I'm a little sore today, but it's a good pain. Hope everyone has a great day. PS Oak Brook Mall is my favorite mall in the universe.  It's so beautiful no matter what season of the year it is.  And even though it's an outside mall, they have nice big overhangs over most of the walkways so even if the weather is bad it's easy to get around and stay pretty dry.   Also, Yorktown Mall down the street from Oak Brook is looking pretty great.  If you haven't seen it lately, they have expanded quite a bit - quite a few new stores and restaurants - I think I'm going to check it out this weekend.

So, how did the consult go? You are off to a good start with the working out at the fitness center, keep up the good work. Remember that every minute you spend there makes it so much healthier for your heart when you go into surgery.

I never made it to OBC mall because the traffic was so light that I decided to get rolling on the road and go towards home. I ended up getting my oil changed instead. You need maintenance on your vehicle more than you need a new outfit. Chris

Good morning! Chris, so sorry to hear about that!!!!  I will keep you and the family in my thoughts and prayers. Not doing to much today.  Have to do some cleaning around the house and if it's not to hot and steamy, i want to work the perenial garden a bit.  I might take the kids to Rockford for a free performance at Sinnissipe Park.  Every Wed. at 1:30 their is a 45 min performance and this week is a juggeler.  Oh-well..it's free and it gets us out of the house for a bit and the kids will like it.   Everyone, take care! I guess that because it was hot and steamy you did not go out, I do not blame you. As you can see I am inside right at the moment. Chris
