New to IL
Hello All,
I just wanted to introduce myself, hopefully make a few friends in this new city.
I moved to Streamwood, IL in March. I moved here to be with my boyfriend, who was born and raised in Hanover Park, IL. We met here at OH. I had surgery in 12/05 and he had his in 8/05. Hopefully, I can make a few new friends here!
Take care...and have a wonderful day.
Stacey
Hi Christina....
You wouldn't believe how nice it is to have someone to share the good things and the bad in regards to our surgery. I ended up getting really sick here last November, before I moved here. Jeff brought me to Alexian Brothers....to the Kane group, basically. Dr. Wallace ended up repairing a herniated intestine. Jeff sat with me each day, while I was in the hospital. I, in turn, sat with him while Dr. Wallace did a hernia repair on him. He's a pretty great guy.
Anyhow, thank you so much for the welcome. I am excited to meet some new people!
Take care

Stacey, so glad that you found our board. There is a great group of girls and a few guys on here. I have a daily roll call that I post, come on in and say "hey" when you can.
I do not live too far from you. I am about 15 minutes east of you in Itasca. I was born, raised and stayed here. My DH also had WLS.
Take care and stay cool and dry.

Hey there, Ronna...
I love Hoffman Estates. There is a great sushi restaurant over there that we just found. Let me know if you ever want to meet up for a coffee or something.
I actually got to meet Dr. Guske. I was at Alexian Brothers back in November. I was Dr. Wallace's patient, but Dr. Guske checked up on me a couple of times. The nurses and I all agreed that he was the cutest of the Kane group.
How are you doing after surgery? I had some bumps in the road....but all in all, am pretty happy. I went from a size 28, tight 26...to an 8/10/12...depending on the maker. I still see myself as fat though. I am having a hard time getting past that.
take care
stacey
