GOOD MORNING

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR CHRIS OR CHRISTINA.....HOW LONG BEFORE SURGERY DID DR.ROSEN PUT YOU ON A LIQUID DIET?    JUST WONDERING   THANKS LADIES YOU ARE SOOOO SUPPORTIVE TO ALL OF US ON THIS ILLINOIS BOARD!  BY THE WAY....I THOUGHT I WOULD MENTION THAT I AM A BOSS AND MY EMPLOYEES HATE IT WHEN I'M GONE!   THEY L-O-V-E      ME!   LOL!   THEY CALL ME A LOT WHEN I TAKE JUST A COUPLE DAYS OFF!   SO SEE NOT ALL THE BOSS PEOPLE ARE GROUCHY!   LOL      PAM

One day when I had my surgery. I took it a little further and went on a three day self imposed liquid diet and it back fired on me. I so wanted food by the time I was given the green light to advance to pureed foods. I just wanted to be really "cleaned out" for the day of surgery.  It is just not me, this boss does not care who likes or does not like him. He feels that we are all there to work and it is not a popularity contest. He basically is a jerk. I am not the only one that dislikes him. Don't get me wrong you can have a good conversation with him and laugh and joke around but there are times he is ruthless and comes down on you. CB

Good Morning Pam - Can I come work for you????  Please, please, pretty please.  I would love to work for a level headed person just once. Are you sitting down??  I was on the liquid diet for 10days prior to surgery.  But honestly, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.  I just kept thinking of the end result. This guy is one of those look down his nose types. Ever since he got his masters he has gotten worse. Now, don't get me wrong he is really, really smart but people skills, well you know what I mean. His opinion usually is the only one that counts. I am not really sure it is his prior life etc. He has just turned into something else. It is a good thing I really like my job and have really good medical insurance otherwise I would have been out of here.  CB

I don't know what kind of diet pre-op Dr. Guske suggests, butit is interesting that all Dr's have thier own opinion.  I love my boss. Of course, she is 100 miles away from me, butshe lets us be ourselves. Also, I have been with this job, for 15 years, and I love it too. Lisa

Hi Pam! I didn't have the same surgeon, but I was on liquid for 11 days (should have been 14 days, but I was fast-tracked).

I have to say, my surgeon's office has a regimented liquid diet, and I did not find it hard at all.  It seemed like I always had something in my hand to drink (or eat in the case of SF popscicles).  It opened my eyes to how often I was eating just to eat, because it was there, out of habit, etc..... I lost 11 pounds during that time too. Good luck to you on this, you can do it!!!! As far as bosses go, mine is also my father-in-law, and he can be a real pain when he so desires.  He sounds a lot like Christine's boss, but I have the added family component which I usually try to ignore.

WANTS ME ON A LIQUID DIET I WILL DO IT WHEN THEY SAY!   LOL DR.S OFFICE JUST CALLED.........LIQUID DIET!   HOW FUNNY IS THAT!    WELL THANK YOU   AND I THINK IT'S SO INTERESTING ABOUT BOSSES TODAY!   HALF LIKE THEM AND HALF DISLIKE THEM!   AS FAR AS ME     DON'T GIVE A **** WHAT THEY THINK!    THEY CAN GET RID OF ME BUT THEY HAVE NO ONE THAT WILL WORK FOR THE LITTLE THAT THEY PAY ME AND DO THE JOB I DO!   PLUS AT NIGHT IT'S SO GREAT....YOU DON'T SEE THEM!   AND WE DO HAVE SO MUCH FUN!      YOU GIRLS HAVE A GREAT DAY!   PS
