I am considering Lap Band with the Kane group. Some of what I've read on this site makes me wonder what kind of problems I will have with eating after the surgery. Can anyone give me a run down of what to expect?  Thanks.

For me i basically eat just about the same just not as much as i use to.  Also bread can be a huge problem for people as it can get stuck.  Unlike bypass you wont have the dumping syndrom with the lap-band which is a plus.

Rose, I can only speak for myself and I had a lap band on July 11, 2006.  To date I have lost 77 lbs. !!!!!  It has been the BEST decision of my LIFE!  Not only do I have energy, but MY OUTLOOK is so much BETTER!  I look good, feel good, stay up to par with my kids(boys), and THE COMPLIMENTS are ENDLESS! The best advice I can give you is to attend an INFORMATIONAL MEETING and get all your questions answered!   After surgery you are on a liquid diet/soft diet for a couple of weeks!  Lots of soups, popsicle, pudding, yello, mashed potatoes, refried beans, etc.  (No Bread)!!!!
