Friday Roll Call

WOOHOO!  I am doing the happy dance. . I looked at the work schedule yesterday and saw that my boss is not in, so there will be less stress. Well, now that I got that out of my system. It looks like a great weekend weather wise around my area. How about yours? We think that we will go for a little drive on Saturday up to about the state border. One of our members (Berts4) mentioned a few times about the festival  in Rock City and we thought we would go for a ride.  Note to self - take bag chairs for the parade. On Sunday we have a get together with another group of WLSers for a luncheon near Lombard/Oak Brook. Well, I am going to sign off. I will check in later. Christine

Good Morning Chris - Cheers to you my friend!  My boss is still out and it typically makes for less stress although he must of read my post about how glad I was he is out of the office because he called me all day yesterday     Sounds like you and Dave have a nice weekend planned.  I came in early so I could leave early today to spend some time with the girls this afternoon.  Can you say outlet mall???  Back to school clothes.  I always thought I had a little bit of style when it comes to clothing although it does not show much anymore since I wear jeans and t-shirts to work.  Amanda and I clash on the clothing arena.  I refuse to buy $80 jeans that are all ripped up.  So, we don't always have such a great time when it comes to shopping for clothes.  I may just take a happy pill and go with the flow.  LOL Hope everyone is doing well.  Have a great day IL and Happy Friday!!!    Christina

OH, Chicago Prime Outlet here you come! We drove past there yesterday to and from Sterling for the wake. That is such a nice mall. Though I did not think that some of their prices are that cheap. Have a cup of Seattle's Best coffee for me. We used to have a coffee shop in Itasca that sold it and I became a fan of theirs. I like it a lot better than Starbucks, infact I hate Starbucks.  Gotta get to work. CB

Chirstine, Did you know that Seattles Best is owned by Starbucks now? they baught them out about 6 months ago. I got some bad news today, Back in March one of my dear friends whom I worked with for a lot of years her husband commited suicide  2 days after his childs 17th birthday. I was so sad when I heard that after I talked to her today. I hadnt talked to her in about 4 years. I am glad it is Friday!!!!! One more week and Ill be on my way to Florida. Carla

Well, let's see.  I ended up at the doctor's yesterday with a temp of 102.  On strong antibiotics.  He said my ear was also real read and inflamed, but it wasn't hurting, so guess that is a good thing.  Date night tomorrow I hope.  I swear I am going if I am dying...I so need it! We weathered the storm yesterday, it wasn't as bad as last year. We need to find time when you gals can all get together, I would love to meet you all. I hope Lucy is doing okay on her cruise. Yes, went to Sterling. You are right it is sad. I never have been at a visitation where they had you weaved in and out rows of chairs. Otherwise we would have been out the door and down the street. He was only in his thirty's. I really feel for his wife. I had never met her before and did not know that she has physical limitations, now she needs to take care of a 3 month old by herself. CB

Good Morning Everyone!!!! So far, I am having a WONDERFUL morning!!!!  I hope the same for all of you! Tomorrow is the "big day"......A Day in Rock City!  I am starting to get excited!  I am in charge of the parade, as usual, but this year, the committee got tired and decided not to work so hard.  It is our independence!  6-8 people put this festival on every year and we have asked and aksed for help but no one wants to help, so we have scaled back a bit.  This will make for a more enjoyable day for those of us on the committe.

I will still be involved and busy a lot of the day, but it should be more fun.  I am looking forward to PARTICIPATING in the Swiss Canoe Races this year!!!!  I have always wanted to do it but was too big and too embarrassed to attempt it.  I will have to post pictures.

The best news is that Christine is coming!  I hope we don't disappoint with our tiny town fest.  Anyone else "in the neighborhood", feel free to email me privately and I will send you a schedule. As for today, I just need to get my work done here (boss is also leaving a tiny bit early....) then pick David up from camp so we can go home and start helping with set up.

Hi Dawn - Congratulations on being able to participate in the Swiss Canoe Races this year.  It has to be so exciting being able to participate instead of being on the side lines. Don't work too hard this weekend.  I sure hope you get a little bit of time to enjoy the festivities. Christina
