Citrus of Magnesium

Oooohhh  ICK Has anyone had to drink Citrus of Magnesium the day before their surgery?   What is it like?   Cindy

I had the grape and the lemon and they were both pretty bad :( Just hold your nose-I did put them over ice and it was a little better. Also make sure you are home after you drink it and try and drink it around 10am like the nurses tell you.

Why 10 am?  Does it keep on working all day?

You should have a time from the docs office when they would like you to start. They want you as clean as a whistle. It will work for several hours like I said in my other post to you.

Do you mean magnesium citrate? It is an over the counter bowel cleanser. The better majority (most doctors prescribe it) of patients need to do it to be cleaned out. I will not sugar coat it, it is not pleasant. Be prepared to be hopping off to the potty for several hours. Drink a lot of water so you do not become dehydrated while you are doing the bowel cleanse. I am pre-op for this, but I had to take that for another procedure a couple of years ago. There is nothing good tasting about it!!!!!But, its better then the enamas they use to use. Lisa
