New to Illinois
Hello everyone, I am a new Illinois resident, I am a Detroit transplant! I moved here in May for a job (which I could not find in Detroit) I live in Schaumburg and I am a paralegal working at a law firm in downtown Chicago and I am so happy here. I had Lap RNY on September 11, 2006 and I have lost almost 160 pounds and have regained my life! I could have never walked around Chicago a year ago and now I power walk to the Metra everyday! My husband is still in Detroit waiting to hear from Blue Cross of Illinois to see if he can start working over here (he cannot just transfer because each Blue Cross is individually owned so he has to go through the whole process again). So for the time being, it is just me and my 2 cats Puppi and Simon. I have been stalking the Illinois board since I got here in May, I just have not posted anything yet, so I decided to come out of hiding and say hi
!

Hi Licia, Welcome to IL. I'm glad you came out of hiding and decided to join us. It's got to be difficult living in a different state then you hubby. My husband commuted for almost a year before we moved to IL and we both hated it. I only saw him on the weekends to I can't imagine your situation. Hopefully soon you guys can get settled. Congratulations on your success. The journey is amazing. We had our surgery about two weeks apart. If you need a great surgeon for support or follow-up appointments let me know and I'll give you the name of my surgeon. He is wonderful. Hope you have a great weekend. If you ever want to meet up for coffee or something let me know. I'm sure it gets lonely being in a new state.
Christina
