Sleep? What is that?
Dee, I am not sure how old you are but for me (I am now 54) as I got into menopause I had a lot of problems sleeping. I am on HRT and it has imporved the situation a hundred fold. For me I would be really leary of taking Ambian right now. There is so much press on it with sleep walking, talking and eating. Scary.

Chris,
I am only going to be 40. They did say with everything my body has been through I could start menopause early, I really expect that too, cause every woman in my family has. I was reading up on Ambian, and actualy afraid to take it anyways.
I got your e-mail, sorry I didn't reply or call you, my sinuses are driving me nuts, and I actually hardly have any voice, but I will be getting a hold of you. Thanks!
Dee
Hey Dee ... I believe that weight loss surgery has thrown me into early menopause (I was 41). It is SO COMPLETELY FRUSTRATING, as I still want to start a family (hmpf, I waited until I was "healthy" enough, and now this ... )
I've also heard that from a few other people throughout the years, I really should pull some of that info together.
As for sleep, I go through my periods of not being able to, then at times I feel like I can sleep 24 hours a day (if only anyone would let me).
Good luck on the sleeping issue ... sometimes some people don't need as much, but maybe hypnosis or acupuncture or something holistic will help?
Best to you,
Karyn

Dee, That is about the amount of sleep I get. Maybe a bit more if I am really tired. I do take an over the counter sleep aid, it at least relaxes me enought to get some zzzzz's. Even the c-pap doesn't help. I do know the older you get, the less sleep a person requires, but you are to young to have that problem.

Dear Dee: I do not have that problem myself, but have read a lot on the Grads board and it seems to be a pretty common thing for Post-Ops. I do not know whether it is related to surgery or not, but I have seen many long discussions about insomnia after surgery.
Maybe you could check there?
That is the only suggestion that I have, and I hope you can resolve this issue soon. I, on the other hand sleep better than ever......
I too started having problems sleeping after WLS. The surgeon gave me an RX for sleeping pills but I hated the way they made me feel. So he recommeded Nyquil. Well that did the trick and I would take a swiq of Nyquil before bed and I sleep great.
Luckily I haven't had the problem for about 6 months but it was awful. I am a raving lunatic if I don't get my sleep.
Good luck!
Regards and hugs,
Ronna
