Good morning IL, how is everyone? Be sure to go back through yesterday's posts and read them over. We have some folks in need of prayer.  What's cookn' for today? I have an average day; I will catch up on the work I started yesterday and fini**** up this morning. Then my co-worker and I need to hammer out how we are going to manage paperwork that is sent to the attorneys that represent the department in court. We have most of the details discussed it is just now the follow through of that work and nailing down a system that will stay consistent. Not much other than that for me on the work and home front. Need to get moving here and start the day. Take care, until later. Christine

Good Morning Chris and the IL Board, I am back after my long trip to Scotland and England.  I woke up this morning about 4:00 am, which would be 10:00 am in the U.K.  The trip home was long but good, I used miles to upgrade to business class and am so happy I did.  I opted to take another day rather than go into to work today. My trip was great though the first few days were spent recovering from the nightmare journey home from New York.  The weather was not too bad considering there was a spot of rain most days.  I was fortunate to not be in the areas that have been hit by terrible flooding.  The Yorkshire area of England has been hit by devastating flooding, some areas had not dried out from earlier floods and were hit again.  When you see this, it makes you give serious thought to our global warning threat. I flew home from London, via the Glasgow Scotland airport.  Glasgow airport has always been wonderful, even though it is an international airport it was compact, easy in and out.  That was until the two doctors decided to drive a jeep into it and set themselves on fire.  Security was very tight and you can no longer drop anyone near the entrance.  It is a sad world that we live in when people who are trained to heal are driven to destroy human life in the name of religion. On the protein front, I did quite well, getting it in.  I didn't do as well on the water but I had plenty of tea :-)  I did a lot of walking and it is much tougher there as it is quite hilly nothing like the flat streets of Chicago.  I stepped on the scale this morning and seem to have lost 1 pound since leaving.  I should be happy that there was not a gain since some of my protein choices were not the best.  I love cheese and both countries have wonderful cheese, many that you can't get here. I am going to do some laundry and pay some bills and relax before it is back to work tomorrow. Must return to pay for all the things I bought, lol  I hope everyone has a great day and I am glad to be back and catching up on the IL board. Mary

Mary, that is one area of the world that I have not been in yet. I have been to England and Wales, but not to Ireland and Scotland. I live vicariously through one of my co-workers that goes over at least every 18 months. He has family still there. He just sent his mom back over so she could visit her siblings. Well, hope you get all the things you need to do done today and then some. Oh, that jet lag, been there done that. Christine

Morning everyone - Thanks again for all your prayers.  We still do not really know too much other then Calvin is in the hospital, they do have him on pain meds and a IV antibiotic.  They are supposed to be sending in a specialist today to take a look at the wound.   So, things are just crazy as ever.  I really do not like drama and my life has been just that for about a month.  Amanda had been home less then 24hrs when we got three phone calls from her mothers side of the family implying that Amanda is acting out and they feel it's in ours and her best interest to bring her back to Chicago.  That's another issue that will have to be dealt with fairly quickly but I have to get Calvin well first. I'm at work, I can barely keep my eyes open.  I keep reminding myself... "This is a test, only a test".

Welcome back Mary!  I've missed your posts.  It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. I need to get moving but wanted to thank you all again for your love and support. Christina

Good morning Chris. Boy this board is hopping! Sure hope that Christina gets some answers about what is going on with Calvin.  Mary's adventure in England sounds great. I hope to get there some day! Now we even have an author amongst us. Illinois has a group of some mighty fine people! I am getting back into the groove of things. Tomorrow I have a second interview for a job I applied for. Keep me in your prayers that it goes well and they offer me the position! I so need to get out of my current job. It has been the torn of my side and caused me many slides off the WLS healthy eating. I need a change in my professional life. Yesterday I had so much mail at home, the mailman left me a basket for it. Went through all of it last night and sorted the bills out. I was so exhausted yesterday that I overslept this morning . I guess I needed the extra sleep.  I saw Dr. Madry yesterday. It looks like my abdominal seroma is subsiding. He tried to aspirate, but didn't get any fluid. So it looks like I am in the mend. My abdomen is still swollen, probably a combination of eating and left over from the seroma that is self absorbing at this time. He was so cute! I greeted him with... get this, hi my sexy doc! He smiled of course. Yes, I was naughty!  Couldn't resist myself though. I am hoping to have my facelift or whatever I need including removal of my turkey waddle in November. I saved the best for last! It's like the icing on the cake. Wishing all of my fellow Illinois friends a wonderful day.  Hugs, Lucy

Hi Lucy, Your Alaskan cruise sounds wonderful.  I have always wanted to go on a cruise to Alaska.  I'm glad to hear that your seroma is getting better, it sounds quite painful.  My fingers are crossed for you with the job interview :-)

Lucy, I just love that this board has come alive, nothing worse than a dead board. I am happy that the seroma is subsiding but that hurts gosh darn it. I had Dr Kane try to get fluid out of a cyst in my breast one time and that brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it is more tender tissue in the breast area.  Wow, second interview, hope it goes to a third if they have one for that job, some do. You behave yourself with Dr Steve! Actually, he probably lives for when you have an appointment because you keep him guessing as to what you are going to wear or not wear. Now, let's see what can I buy for my Aug 8th apt with him???!!! He better be in "full uniform" when I see him. I sent him a kid's plastic police star that we give out. I raided the supply cabinet at work for freebies that we give to kids. I sent a sh_t load of things for his little girl and also a star for him so his daughter can be like her daddy. When I went in uniform to my last apt he said he wanted my uniform star. I would have been in deep dudu if I gave him my work star. Take care, Chris

Good Morning everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I've been super busy.  I have kept everyone in my prayers though and am still praying that things work out for all. Just working today, which will be pretty boring since I am all caught up on things that needed to be embroidered.  After work I am meeting one of my best friends that I haven't seen for a while.  We talk on the phone all the time, but it's just not the same as seeing them yanno?  I am excited about that. Tonight I am going to watch Big Medicine that hubby taped for me last night since my son and I were at dog obedience with 2 of our dogs.   Does anyone know if the Kane Center calls you before your consult about insurance matters?  My consult isn't until Aug 7th, but I am getting really excited about it!  I know, pathetic...LOL I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe day today!

Monica

Monica, I cannot tell you about the consult and insurance because they do things different now. It used to be that you did not get an apt with the surgeon until after you received approval from ins. then you proceeded with the other specialists you needed to see. You can always call and ask Maggie about it. It was a good Big Medicine, you will enjoy it. Boy, sometimes Big & Little D bicker.  Christine
