Update on DH
Once again gang, Thank you very much for your continued thoughts and prayers. It's just been a whirl wind for my family this last few weeks. I know many of you can relate. It does not look like my life will be settling anytime soon.
So, not sure if you all saw my update from earlier since I posted a reply against my old post. Bottom line, Calvin did not have his surgery this morning. They ordered several different tests ie: EKG, Ultrasound of the heart and lungs and he did not get the clearance from the cardioligist until late morning and by that time, no surgery rooms were available. We are going to try it again tomorrow morning at 7:30am. Calvin had a little ***** in his step tonight (maybe it was the morphine!) We are facing some major stressors in our lives but I know we will get thru them. It will be a test to see how strong our marriage really is.
In the mean time, the saga continues with my stepdaughter. I will be flying out to Baltimore a week from Friday and driving a Uhaul w/ her, a new puppy and her belongings back. I'm guessing she will be kicking and screaming all the way. DH will not be well enough to make the trip and we need to get this done fairly quick. I need her settled before school starts and I start my partime job at Bakers Square around the 13th. By the way, did I mention my husband bought her a puppy a few weeks back thinking that would feel some of the void????????? Well, that means four, 4 labs. That is three too many. Cripes, I may have to get two part time jobs to pay for the food. I keep reminding myself one day at a time and if it gets too bad............. one minute at a time.
Take care everyone and I'll update ya later. Christina
Where are you buying your patience from? I would be a swearing
person if I would be in your shoes! You are so positive, and that's what will get you through all this! BTW have you lost any weight from all your summer events? I am so glad you feel supported, that must help a little!
(((HUGS TO YOU))) Pam

Hello Christina, I will be thinking of both of you this morning. On the positive note for Calvin, a one day delay in surgery knowing that he has had all the tests and has the required clearance takes a little pressure off. The hard part is the stress on you. I think it is far easier to be the person being operated on as opposed to the one waiting for news. You both are in my prayers and I hope that he is home soon so that you both can get your lives back on track.
Four Labs might just eat you out of house and home. Hopefully, your stepdaughter will want to help out with the dogs. Sometimes animals have a way of reaching people when we (humans) can't. As for my jetlag, it is nothing compared to what you or many people are going through. It is a small price to pay for my lovely vacation. Prior to WLS, I had all sorts of sleep issues, between the apnea and waking many times during the night for the bathroom, I had fitful sleep. I will get back to my "normal" self soon. Best Wishes for today, Mary
Hi Mary - Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. Please tell me what "normal" is??? Yes, I know when Calvin was going thru a 12mo form of chemo a couple years back, the dogs are what got him thru it. They do give you that unconditional love we all need. Hopefully soon your sleep schedule will be back on track.
Christina
