Good morning IL board. How are all of you doing? We woke up to some much needed rain here in my area. Guess I will have to drive to work this morning. That is ok I needed to run an errand at lunch time. Last month our car gas bill was only $33. You see I ride or walk to work and Dave works right out of the house and walks also - 15 feet to his office.   Well, we have a full Saturday and Sunday coming up. Dave wants to go talk at one of his docs pre surg seminars, then we have a wedding in Woodridge where we are staying the night, then we are going to the Renaissance Faire in Bristol, WI and then on the way home from there we are stopping up by Fox Lake for a double whammy baby christening. I have a great great neice and nephew being welcomed into the Christian community. They are who I need to run the errand for - cards. I probably will not be around much tomorrow or Sunday. I can post the roll call on Saturday but if someone would step up and do Sunday that would be great. No pressure.  Christina, how is your boy doing? I bet you both will be glad to get him home so you both can sleep. How are our newest "loosers" doing? We also have some upcoming surgeries - Pam S will be stepping into the batters box on the 3rd and then over to the loosers bench. Pam we are keeping it warm for you. How are our other soon to be loosers that are in mid process? Come on in and tell us what is going on. Then we have the lurkers that are too shy to post.  we do not bite we are here to you. Take care all. Christine

Someone the other day wanted to know what I did for a living - I am a Record's Assistant for the Itasca Police Department. I process all the paperwork that is criminal, civil, traffic etc that is created by other divisions within the PD. I was a 911 dispatcher for 14 years and have been in records for 14 years also. I will be there 28 years in mid September. I am vested for my pension but want to stay there until I am 55 so I can take my medical insurance with me when I leave, so that means one more year until that time. I would also like to say that I have 30 years in so I guess I can hold out until 2009. I am in no hurry to leave, it pays really well.  I could not find who the question person was for the above info by going back through the posts. This is just easier. Have a fantastic day. Chris

Hi Pam: I had what WAS a very good friend until I told her about my plans for surgery.  We used to see each other almost every weekend, or so.  Our families hung out together.  The first time I told her that I was working on having surgery I thought she would be the most supportive as she struggles with weight also.  She just said that even though she had lost a lot of weight, she was still "obese" by the charts and I should not worry about what the charts say. Once my surgery became a reality, she kind of pulled away and I have not really "hung out" with her much since.  She came over about a week after my surgery and wanted me to go downtown to the bar with them.  I said no thanks, and she said, "well, you can at least come down and have a soda...."  She just DOES NOT get it.  I made a "joke" the other day that since I don't drink alcohol and (over) eat any more, I must not seem like any fun to her any more.  Oh well......I can't live my life for others, but I DO understand where you are coming from. On this journey, you may lose some people that you thought wree friends, but you will also gain new friendships.  Not to mention how much better you will feel both mentally and physically! We'll all be here for you!

Good Morning everyone!!!! I am at work right now, but later, Todd and I are going to have a "date" for lack of a better word. Since David is still at camp and Todd and I both work in the city, Olivia made arrangements to visit a friend overnight.  That way, Todd and I can meet up for dinner, then I can go to his softball game afterwards.  I very seldom get a chance to watch him play as I usually go home to be with the children and it takes too long (and too much gas) to drive back in.  It should be fun.  We hardly ever get time alone, so it will be nice to catch up with him.  (sounds strange, I know........) David will be home tomorrow, ao I am not sure what it going on.  Sunday, we are coming in to Amber's for a cookout. I am glad to hear that Calvin is on the mend. Everyone have a wonderful day (and weekend if I don't check back in.....)

Good Moring Il- Took the kids to VBS this morning and I am going to call for phic and nut. appt today.  Talked to Maggie at Kane Center and said that I need to contact her once I made the appts.  She said I have to get her 5 years of medical history, so that will be my project today!  Next month my 6 month supervised diet is done and then I wait around to see if I get approved.   Christina-  I have kept you and the family in my prayers! Hi Janet. Thanks for thinking about me. I'm slowly gaining ground after my bout in the hospital and then my trip to Alaska. I was able to complete my 8 zipline adventures and walking across 3 suspension bridges. My seroma seems to be subsiding now. I ate way too much on my cruise and tomorrow I will find out how much I gained! Hope you are doing well after your GB removal. I can tell you that while I was in the hospital and on Dilaudid, I had some memory loss as I couldn't remember that one of my friends called me while I was in the hospital. I have no memory of her calling me! Yikes!!! Well, take it easy and get lots of rest. I'm still so tired and think my iron levels haven't improved even though Dr. Guske put me on iron supplements. I will be having my iron level checked later in August to see if it has improved Take Care! Lucy
