First Post! Im approved!

Hey everone.  My names Erik, and im from Streamwood. Just got the approval in the mail yesterday. I am working with Dr. Rantis at Alexian.

Just wanted to say thatnks to you all. This site has helped me in my decision and research about WLS.  im excited.

Welcome Erik.  Congrats on getting approved.  What ins do you have?  I have a consult scheduled with Dr Rantis for Aug 7th and honestly it can't come soon enough. I will probably have my surgery at St Alexius though, I live down in North Aurora. 

I have United health Care PPO. Ive been very happy with them, from my sleep apnea, to this, they have been great.

my consult with dr rantis was 7/3, they submitted a few days later.  took about 2 weeks for approval, and they didnt give me any restrictions or stipulations.  if they are who make you feel comfortable, go fo it. i wasnt sold on the idea of wls, till after i found the kane center.

no date yet, just got the approval from the ins yesterday. they sent one directly to me as well. havent even spoke with the kane center since.  

Hey Erik..  Welcome to the IL board and congrats on your approval.  You'll be having that surgery before you know it.  Hang on tight, your in for the ride of your life!  Christina

Erik, so glad that you stopped in and introduced yourself. Take care and if you have any questions be sure to come in and ask. We have a lot of people with various types of expertise here on the board and someone will be able to answer whatever you may ask or just plain give support.
