Good Morning IL - Time to rise & shine!  What's going on today?  Not a lot going on with me.  Just working, eating and sleeping and taking care of my patient.  Calvin is doing well, he's sleeping a lot.  He's still in some pain from the open wound but that is to be expected. We still are facing major drama with my step daughter as she has decided to not answer or return calls.  We feel helpless being 800miles away.  Calvin has a call into our attorney to make sure we are taking the appropriate steps to get her to IL.  Once she is here, we will get her in some much needed counseling hopefully one on one and then family.  She does not understand right now that we are doing this to protect her and to give her a better life.  Hopefully some day she will thank us. Please keep Mary's sister in your prayers today as she undergoes surgery. Pam S. has put out a request.. please keep her niece Alex in your prayers.   Shelley's Grandmother is in the hospital.  Say some prayers for her. Dee S is going thru some trying times with DH's job.. prayers heading your way.   I hope everyone else has a wonderful start to a new week. Christina

Good morning to you Christina and all of our other board members. Man I am bushed. Some might be surprised to hear that I do run out of steam once in a while. I would rather crawl back between the sheets and not go to work. That would not be fair to my co-worker because Monday's are really busy days.  Well, like I eluded to I will be dragging my sorry butt into work here in about an hour. Not much going for me other than work. Need to do a few basic things around the house if I have much gumption after work.  I really feel for you and Calvin. I am glad to hear that you are going about the attorney route to make sure that you have your ducks in a row lined up legally. That is the smart thing to do. Maybe there are even other things that he will tell you about on how to approach this matter. And especially since you will be bringing her back across state lines; you need to make sure all your I's and t's are dotted and crossed. Hopefully in the next few days you will have some resolution as to getting in contact with her. I am sure that will give both of you a little more peace if you hear her voice.  Take care, Chris

Well, well if it is'nt sleeping beauty.  I was wondering when you were going to rise & shine and show that pretty little face of yours.  You've been a busy little bee lately. Take care and try to get some rest today at work.  Christina

Morning Christina! I'm up pretty early today.  Got woken up about 3 am with a terrible leg cramp that bounced me right out of bed to do the "hop hop my leg is in spasms dance" :-(  Been up ever since. Oh well, don't know quiet what to do.  I have tried banannas, extra calcium and extra B complex vitamins but to no avail.  the only thing that does seem to help somewhat......now don't laugh cause it really does help is a bar of soap that I put under the sheets at the foot of my bed. I read an article about this ages ago but just laughed. But I have been so desperate to find something that helps I finally tried it back in January when I was in Las Vegas and it really did and does help.  But not always :-( Anyway, hope everyone has a great day.  It's going to be a hot and steamy one here in Chicagoland.
Regards and hugs,

Ronna

Good Morning Ronna - I sure hope you get some relief from the leg cramps.  I know how painful they can be.  Now, if I was to put a bar of soap at the foot of my bed, dh would think I was trying to tell him to go take a bath!! LOL  That is very interesting. Hang in there and try to stay cool today. Christina

Ronna, I have found that when I get those leg cramps I am lacking in water.  Christine

Thanks Chris, I'll try and up the liquids.  I do try and keep it between 3 and 4 liters but I'll try and pu**** a bit and see if that might help. Thanks again for the suggetion.
Regards and hugs,

Hi Rona, Can you explain a little bit more about the bar of soap at the foot of the bed ?  My mom has terrible leg cramps.  She does the water, vitamins, banana's etc.  She also drinks tonic water for quinine (not sure of spelling) that is supposed to help with cramps to no avail. If a bar of soap helps, she'll put a case of soap in the bed to relieve the pain :-) Thanks Mary

Hi Mary, There is a Dr. Grut that does a column in our local paper every monday in the Health and Fitness section.  That's where I read about it. You need to use a deodarent type of soap like Zest or Dail.  No one know why it works but it does seem to better than anything else that I've tried. I don't know, maybe it's just psychosomatic
Regards and hugs,

Ronna

Hi Ronna. Sorry to hear about those leg cramps. I get them too once in a while. I hate them and have to get up and walk around in pain until it goes away. I'm going to have to try your idea and see if if works.

I don't have any thoughts or suggestions for you. Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you... Hope to see you at the next support meeting on August 17th. Hugs, Lucy
