and can you believe that with a hubby and 3 kids at home, not one of them answered it!!!  I was at work and could have called her right back, but nooooo, they let the machine get it and then by the time I got home, she was gone!  She said that she talked to my insurance and has my benefits, she wants to talk to me about them and also let me know what they are requiring of me.  This sounds like good news to me!  I hope...LOL I have to wait til 8am tomorrow morning to call her back now! Darn it!  My consult is next Tuesday

Good thought coming your way. Have you met your requirements from your insurance? If you have then maybe she just has some "tweaks" that you may need to do.  Christine

Not at all Chris, I think she's wanting to go over the requirments which one I know will be the 6 month diet.  I am just hoping that they will cover me after that because I have no co morbidities at all.

Thanks everyone, I finally got a hold of Michelle around 12pm today.  She was calling to tell me that my insurance requires the 6 month supervised diet and that she would email me the info I needed so I could go to my PCP for this.  I am going to contact my Dr and get my first visit set up so I can get moving with this.  She told me to contact her during month 5 to set up the psych eval, nutritionist visit and to have 5 yrs of medical records by then.  As soon as she's got all the info from my PCP about the diet, she will then submit.  I guess that won't be until Feb of next year.  Hope you guys don't mind me hanging around pre op that long!  lol I'm excited now....

Monica, well you are on your way to a healthier you.  You do not have to ask if you can hang around - that is what we are here for. You keep coming back in and ask any questions or request support anytime that you need to.

Oh I know Chris, I was just teasing about that part.  Now that I have found this group I am not going anywhere.  My cousin had an open GB 10 years ago that has failed now and she says that she believes a HUGE part of it was because she didn't think she needed support and never went to one meeting after surgery.  I'm so glad that I found you guys.  I gave her the website as well. Have a happy night

Hang in there Monica..  Personally, I think that support is one of the most important parts of this journey if you want to be successful. You just keep coming back lady.. That 6 mo will be here before you know it.
