Michelle from Kane Center called
thanks Christina, I am not going anywhere and I really think once the kids head back to school and with the holidays in the fall/winter, the 6 months will go by very quickly and I should be able to have surgery sometime by the end of Feb I am hoping. My only concern is that I am still somewhat torn between the gbp and the lap band. How do you make that final decision and how long can you change your mind? lol
Hi Monica,
I have an apt with Kane Center very soon, can you tell me about the staff? I want to talk to them about Revision surgery. If you don't mind me asking what insurance do you have? I have BCBS PPO, and with RNY it took them about 6 weeks to approve me. I would like to have an idea of what to expect when I go out there. I am going for the meeting with alot of hesitation.
Margiev
Hi Margiev. I can tell you about the staff after I go to my appt tomorrow afternoon. They changed my time from 4:3pm to 1:30pm, which with the traffic will be a lot better for me. I have BCBS PPO as well and right now I just started the required 6 month Dr supervised diet. How the heck did you manage to get approved in 6 weeks? lol I would love to do that!
I know that Michelle, the girl who works with the ins, is wonderful. She's been very helpful.
When will you be going?
I had my LAP-RNY done by Dr. Kane Jr @ the Kane Center. I don't think it gets any better!!! The office is very busy...which is a good sign! I have no complaints about the office or my experience at Alexian Bros. Medical Center. I had no complications at all.
The GBP is better if you have a sugar addiction or if you can't control your fat intake. You will lose most of your weight within 18 months. With the band, it will take up to 3 yrs to lose all of your weight. You are able to eat anything, just smaller amounts...which means you can still eat sugar and fat. With the GBP once the surgery is over that is it. With the band you will have appt. to go in for fills. So if you don't mind having a needle inserted into your abdomen, then maybe the band is for you.
Good luck with your decision.
