Tuesday Roll Call

Good Morning IL Board, Thanks for all of your prayers and well wishes for my sister.  Her surgery, though quite delayed went well.  Due to delays and an emergency surgery she was not taken until 6:00 pm.  She came through the surgery fine, minus one gallbladder and 9 stones.  They will release her later today. I must say, I feel it is tougher to be the one in the waiting room, than the one on the table.  Waiting is rough. After work today I need to run to a currency exchange and pick up my license plate sticker as I forgot to renew by mail :-(  What does everyone have planned for today ?  Try and keep cool as it is supposed to be rather hot. Lucy- I hope you get good news soon Ronna- Thanks for the soap advice Christina- I hope you got some rest. Everyone have a great day. Mary

Oh my gosh, 6pm. That poor thing, laying there on that gurney all that time. Yes, it can be really tough sitting in the waiting room. Been there, done that. Standing in the emergency room is not fun either. When Dave had his round of being taken in for the internal bleeding right after his first PS in July 2005, that was my most recent turn. Fortunately, I had an idea probably of what was going on with him and I was strangely calm through the whole thing. The only time I was excited about any of it was when he called me at work and told me to go into the dispatcher and have her roll the ambulance. I was a little frustrated with my co-worker that she did not jump up and look up our address, she started yelling back at me as I was running out the door asking me what my address was. For pete's sake, we are a small department she has an employee phone list right next to her.  She was and still is a witch.  Chris

I don't know about the rest of the bunch but it's kind of neat to be able to have 2 roll calls per day!   we all have the gift of gab so chatting twice a day is no test....just a blessing you think?  LOL   Mary, you and Chris need to ask each other every morning what are you wearing....bet you have the same outfits on too!    now just tell me what other state board has 2 roll calss!   Illinois is hot and we have the best!!  Pam

Well, unless she wears a police uniform which I boringly have worn for 28 years then yes she is dressed like me. I live for Friday's because I can wear whatever I would like including jeans.  Did you get my phone message? Chris

Hello Ladies, No Police uniform for me, though that could come in handy with my lead foot, lol.  That would just be too funny if I did wear one to work.  I just got home from standing in line to get my license plate sticker as well.  Last month it was the Chicago City sticker which I remembered to renew by mail.  The first currency exchange I went to had their system go down due to all the last minute folks like me.  This will be my lesson to do it ahead of time next year. Good Morning Mary - Glad to hear all went well w/ your sis.  I agree, I think the waiting part is the hardest.  That bad, bad gallbladder.  Why do we even have one?  It seems like I know more people that have them removed then keep them  I hope your sleeping schedule is starting to get back to normal.

I look forward to seeing you at the meeting Thursday night! Christina

Hi Mary. Thanks for the update  on your sister. Yikes, that's a lot of stones... I think it is harder for those who have to wait in the surgical waiting area. The time seems to go so slow! Wishing her a speedy recovery. Thanks for the reminder about the license plate sticker! I have to change mine too. Lucy

Hi Lucy, She is home sleeping now.  It was quite a lot of stones.  She has one in a zip lock bag as she asked the doctor for her stones.  She is doing great though, eating a light menu and walking and using that spirometer like crazy. She looks way better than I did after WLS, so I hope she stays moving and pretty pain free.

Thanks Mary
