Special Day

 Today is a special day for my Dave. Today is the day that doctors predicted he would not get to if he did not loose weight, he is 60 today. When Dave started pursuing WLS the doctors said that because of his SMO and co-morbids he would not live to see 60. Well, he fooled Satan and worked feverishly to stay on this side of life.  Well, we are going to celebrate at a restaurant called Al Capone's in St Charles. This is supposed to be Al Capone's hide away from during his hayday of thieving and his gangster days. Yeah, I know food but we still enjoy food and we will also enjoy what we have tonight for several days afterwards with the left overs!  We had WLS to live and enjoy life.  Take care, Christine

  Happy Birthday Dave!  I'm so glad you were able to get healthy and live a full.. and I mean FULL life.  You and Chris are very special and I know Calvin and I both feel blessed to have you in our lives.  This journey is amazing. Have fun tonight!  Calvin & Christina

Christina, thank you sweetie. We will be  one another and celebrating what God has given to us. I am the designated driver so I will not be lifting any glasses of cheer but he will. Chris

Dee, thank you, we will have fun. Dave finds the most fantastic places to go sometimes, then again so do I as I have had a few good suggestions recently for him. Heck, come to the Chgo area we have fantastic places to go, some better than the Dells! How are your and your DH's spirits with "Bloggo" or Blaggo? That is what my deputy chief and others (those that are republicans at the PD, like myself) call him.  Chris

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!!!!  YOU SURE SHOWED THEM!!!! CHRIS,  IV'E BEEN TO THAT RESTAURANT BEFORE. IT'S WONDERFUL!!!!  THERE IS A COUPLE OF COOL ASPECTS TO THE PLACE. FIRST,  JUST GETTING THERE IS FUN AND TRICKY.  YOU'LL KNOW WHAT I MEAN!  THEN SECOND,  THE INSIDE IS SO COOL!  YOU AND DAVE WILL HAVE BLAST JUST READING THE HISTORY ON THE WALLS.  I HAD A STEAK WHEN I WENT AND IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST STEAKS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!  HAVE FUN TONIGHT! They have 3 grades of steak on the menu - choice, Angus and Prime - guess what we are having?  Prime of course, unless I find a fantastic fish on the menu or is a special. That is what we understand that the place is hard to find; but what "Hideaway" is not hard to find? Chris

Well, you probably had a prime steak when you were there, they are the best tasting. It was not too bad getting there because I am familiar with Rt 25 btwn St Charles and Elgin. But, the view was fantastic during dinner. We had a table by the window. We brought a lot of left overs home. The waitress used one of the empty tables for our styro containers and kept stacking them up on the chair behind Dave. We even brought our left over "appiteaser" and rolls that we did not eat home. Happy Happy Birthday Dave!!!! Enjoy your dinner at Al Capone's.  While I have never been there, my work makes their shirts they wear.  We do the design and screen printing of them!  I have heard it's a great place.

Monica, I mentioned to Dave what you said about the shirts and he was fasinated about that. We will be sure to look at them. Of course if they sell them in a restaurant store they would be worth it for us to buy. I love (more than Dave) getting those types of souveniers. Chris
