Medicaid DOES pay for LApBand.Read this
I emailed Medicaid the other day because I have been getting conflicting info weather or not Medicaid pays for the LapBand or not.I just got the reply a few minutes ago.Here is a copy of it.

Gastric by- pass surgery is a covered service based upon medical need.
The surgeon doing the procedure must get a prior approval from the
Department.

The lap band procedure is a covered service but must have prior
approval
which is based upon the need and if this is the best procedure for the
patient. The Dr doing the surgery would need to get a prior approval
from the Department.
So there we go.Now we know FOR SURE!
