Appt with my PCP this morning

Well I had my first appt with my PCP for the 6 month diet required by BCBS.  I was kinda surprised that since I saw him last at the end of May I have gained 10 pounds~  Makes me sick.  Anyway, he's agreed to help me with this 6 month thing, but it's the first time any of his patients have done anything like this, so he hopes that he's doing it right.  I really hope so too cuz I don't want this to be for nothing.   He also said that he would like to to see a dietician while doing this.  Wouldn't it just make more sense then for me to go to a Nut for all of this?  I'm not sure what to do.  He said that he will sign the paperwork every month and help me....ugh, I'm so confused!  I don't know what I should do. 

Dear Monica: Take a DEEP breath........Now....that's better! I had BCBS.  I can email you a copy of the form that I took to my pcp each month to be included in the file when it is sent for reveiw.  That way, I was sure that they would have all of their questions answered and they would not deny on the grounds that they did not like the doctor's notes.  PM me privately with your email address and I will be happy to send it to you. It will not hurt to see a dietician at least one time, at first.  That way, you will have a record that you are trying to learn the correct way of eating. It sounds like your PCP will be very helpful.....that's a GOOD thing! Hang in there, we will help you through this......

OH oh me too please. Cani have the form too? I have bcbs of IL. I have been doing my own notes but a form that has been proven to work sounds great.

Monica, touch base with Maggie or one of the other girls at the Kane Center if you have any questions because that is what they are there for - to get you eventually approved. They I am sure will help you make sure that you have all of your I's dotted and t's crossed. Chris

Hey Monica! Don't get dicouraged there will be many hurdles to jump over! I have been threre too. I gained 7lbs. I was soo sad. But then I realized! Tha'ts why I NEED the surgery. I have a problem with my weight! lol As for the nutrisionist visit.as far as I know you must have a nutrional eval. prior to geting approved anyway so going won't hurt. I am gonna go next month.That will prty much be my last appointment. I have done everthything else. physch,cardiologist ect.
