Let down again!!!

Kim My surgeon saves the nerve that causes dumping. I eat sweets but in moderation. The lap band is a foreign object and the body can reject it just like a transplant. I know you are set on lapband. I think most people start off wanting that I did but I knew it wouldn't work for me and my weight. I have seen quite a few people here on oh who are and have not been satisfied with the lapband and end up needing a revision. I didn't know medicaid will pay for your travel? Have you checked kentucky? or iowa? how about mo? I have heard that the states that take il medicaid are ones that are connected to us. Did you call U of C they do all 3 surgeries and they accept medicaid?  good luck to you dee

Hey dee.Well I`m almost tempted to go RNY.I`ve been reading up more on here and on other sites.I can`t remember if I called U of C or not this time around.I`ll have to check my folders on my desktop.I know I contacted them when I first started the research last year but I can`t remember what they told me.I did get on the message boards here for those areas when I did all this the first time.And always got the same thing when I researched a referral.We no longer accept medicaid for that.Yes,if you are on medicaid,if you have no other means of transportation,IE:Bus system,vehicle,you don`t drive & you can`t walk to an appt.they will pay for you to get to an appt.You just have to call the Dept.of human resource office in your local area,(your case worker if you are on the system)& ask how you go about getting transportation to medical apptss.thru medicaid.It`s really hard to decide weather to go with the lapband or switch to the RNY.I`ve heard about all the sliming & dumping and all that stuff and I don`t want to do that.Or want to have the option of it happening less.It really is hard to decide.But I guess I will give it some more thought.Thanks Dee
