I GOT APPROVED!!!!!!!
My file was sent to BCBS of IL on 8/3, on 8/8 I called to check the status and they had just prepared a letter saying that they were missing the psych eval and the 5 yr history of morbid obesity. I sent in medical records to prove the 5 yr history and I contacted the surgeon's office for them to fax the psych eval in. Everything was forwarded to the medical review department on 8/13 and 8/14 I was approved. My surgeon's office won't accept a fax of the approval letter, they will call me when they get their paper copy in the mail. I am anxiously awaiting the call.
...BCBS of IL must be getting easier to give approvals! your dates are the next thing you'll wait for! Pam
