I'm Home!
Hello everyone! I am back from my weekend at my parent's place with Jacob and my sis and neice. It was such a nice, but super hot, weekend. We spent a good part of Saturday out and about walking through all the arts and crafts booths and then had chinese for lunch where I ate very well I think. Sunday we walked around some more and then watched the parade! I saw and got to hug Dawn there too! Her son was marching with his schoo's marching band. It was nice seeing her again...she got to meet everyone breifly too.
I told my mom about my WLS and while she of course worries about any kind of surgery, she's supporting me 100%. I left it up to her to tell my dad about it, which is fine with me. My dad is HARSH when it comes to certain things and weight loss is one of them. He's about 140 soaking wet and has NEVER in his life had a weight problem. He is always telling people that it's "so easy" to lose weight, just eat less. It drives me nuts. We'll see what he says about it.
We got home a couple of hours ago, I've been catching up on emails, laundry and of course OH. Now I have to go and take a Biology test online! yuck!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
Hi Monica - Welcome Home.. I missed you. So glad to hear you had a really nice visit with your family. It's great news to hear your mother supports you 100%. I'm sure she is scared for you but just remind her she also wants to see a happy, healthy Monica too. Just continue to educate her and the family and all will fall into place. It's very cool that you were able to catch up w/ Dawn! Good Luck on your test. Christina
I missed you too Christina! Yes it's great that my mom was so understanding and supportive. I just hope that my dad will be too. He's a rare breed, my dad. lol
I got a high B on my test! yay...I was so excited. Now it's on to studying for the next one in Biology. I have a total of 5 to do. I have done 2 already!
Thanks Lucy and Ronna. Yes it is great that my mom is on board with everything. I was really worried about it. I have a great relationship with my mom though. My dad too to an extent. He's always on me about just eating less and moving more...well duh! lol
I was very active this weekend, but I also know that I didn't do great with the eating...we will see tomorrow, it's my 3rd nut appt already! I am also having my 1st visit with the Psych too....it will be a long visit that's for sure!
Hi Monica!
Good to know that you made it home safely. It was great to meet your family, however breifly. Next time, I'll know to drive myself if I want to hang out after a parade. David's band and color guard got trophys for first place, but David says that there was really no competition. He thought that there were only 3 bands in the whole parade.
His band director is kind of strange, so she would not care if they win by default, as long as they win.
You mom seemed like a sweet lady, and I am glad that she is behind you. Maybe your dad's reaction will surprise you, and if not, he will come around when he sees how the surgery will enable you to "eat less and move more".
GREAT news about the test! Keep up the good work!
Have a lovely day!

Hey Dawn! Yes we made it home safe and sound at about 1pm yesterday.
My mom is a wonderful and caring woman and I was lucky to be brought up by her. You are right about my dad, he's surprised us kids more than once with reactions. Hopefully this will be one of those times too.
Yes, you should drive yourself next time, that would be fun to hang out some. We go out there every year for Autumn Fest. Congrats to David and the teams for winning. There didn't seem to be as many this year, he's right.
Take care and we'll talk soon!
