IM APPROVED !!
Congrats! My longest wait was for the pulmonologist. Once I saw him, he wanted me to repeat my sleep study. I got that done one week later. He told me at my apt that he would approve me, but he needed the new tritation level prior to surgery. The only thing that I really had to wait for was the initial appointment, everything else only took about a week. I had to keep on my psychiatrist though, she didn't want to release me until she recieved payment from Blue Cross and she didn't bill electronically. She sent in a paper claim, and the insurance co never recieved it. She was a nut, and she could have been one of her own patients. Just be real honest and tell your doctors that you are hoping to have your surgery on a given date, and you would like to have this process completed as soon as possible. I very happy for you. My doctor wouldn't send in my file to the insurance until all of my required visits were complete. Once I heard from the insurance, it only took a few days for me to recieve my date. I would think that within 8 weeks you should be good to go. If you are having an open procedure figure 6 weeks. If you are having a laproscopic procedure figure 4 weeks off from work. But I told my doctor when I wanted to return to work. He didn't have a problem with giving me the ok for 6 weeks off.
