Good Morning IL!   It's finally Friday.  Time to rise & shine and enjoy the day.  I have to work both jobs today so it's just a normal day for me.  I attended my surgeons support group meeting last night.  Great turn out and great food!  Who would have thought that there were so many great dishes out there that are actually healthy??  The topic was healthy recipes for the holidays.  I'm guessing there was close to 20 different recipes along with sampling.  All the recipes were approved by our nut prior to the meeting. She also touched on being prepared when you are attending holiday parties.. eat a little something prior to going so you don't feel the temptations of eating unhealthy food.  Be prepared with comeback lines when someone tries to force you to try there famous desert..  "Oh, I could not eat another bite"  "I would love to but I'm just too full"  or.. Just be honest with them and tell them.. I had wls and I just can't eat that type of food, but thank you for he offer.   Be VERY careful on alcohol consumption.  alcoholic drinks are loaded with calories and us wl patients don't handle alcohol as well as we may have pre-op.  Be Careful! lifeweighbariatrics.com will be posting all the recipes on their website. Ok.. Got to get busy.  Hope everyon has a great day! Christina

Cornucopia Good Morning Christina and the rest of the Illinois Board.Today I get to play Merry Maid and Gofer. My van is in the shop getting brakes, and I am stuck with running around in DH's Monte Carlo.  Christina, Thats all good advice. I will be going to the web site to see the new recipes. I want to be able to take some guilt free dishes to family gatherings for the holidays.  Tomorrow we will be coming up to Dr. Cranes Freedom to Live  meetings, and then meeting our girls and SILs at Geneva Commons. Other then that, nothing exciting will be happening.  Don't forget to turn your clocks back Saturday night.  Lisa Pilgrim

Good Morning Christina and the rest of Illinois! I am working today, and we have been REALLY busy lately, making it almost impossible for me to stop in here and chech in with you all like I would like to. David's school's team won their first play off game last Saturday and have another one tomorrow.  All the football players now have mowhawks, and as of last night, so does David!  He actually looks like a real Indian.  I don't mind at all.  For one, it will grow back, and for two, he REALLY needed a haircut but refused to even consider it.  So at least now, most of his hair has been cut!  Tonight, it will just be me and Olivia, maybe Riley and Amber, because the boys are all going to the Ice Hogs home opener that is sold out.  The Hogs are now the farm team for the Chicago Blackhaws and everyone in this area is pretty excited. Tomorrow will be a busy day.  The boys have can pick up for the Scouts in the morning, Olivia has play practice and Devon and Riley are coming out to spend the night and go to Olivia's play with us in the evening.  I need to squeeze in a good cleaning of my bathroom somewhere. I still haven't gotten my 1 year reveiw written up, but I DID manage to get some pictures from vacation downloaded to my profile.  Check out the bridge that we WALKED over!  Not only did we walk over that 1/2 mile bridge, but we walked another 5-6 miles that day in 90 degree heat.  Todd kept asking me, "Are you sure?  Are you OK?"  I just laughed with the excitment of knowing that last year, I would have probably wanted to sit in the air conditioned hotel reading........... I am SO glad that we have so many newbies that will be having these amazing WOW moments before they know it.  I wish everyone a wonderful, lovely day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hi Christina and IL Board,  I'm still on vacation for a few more days, so I'm trying to get in all those "to-do" list stuff that never gets done while working the overnight shift.   So, today it is off to Curves, then the chiropractor and then I'm gonna check out the course for our walk on Saturday.  After that, I am hoping to get some car maintenance done (oil change, etc) and then perhaps I will venture over to the uniform store for some smaller pants!  I'm getting tired of my co-workers comments about my pants being too big...hey, it's better that way than me wearing them too small, right? LOL! Anyways, Have a wonderful day!! Paula

Good morning everyone! The past two days have reminded me how much I hate getting the flu. What a time for me to get sick. Christina, you have to share some of those recipes! I know everyone in my family worries when this time of year comes. So many added calories! Hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend. Kristen

Good morning Illinois! I'm at Panarea Bread for soup for breakfast in Downers Grove before I head for home. Black bean soup. I enjoyed seeing everyone last night. I think we need to have a meeting where we just mingle so we can talk a little to everyone. I did get a chance to talk to Dr R a little though. I have really been depressed and having a hard time with the band since my dad passed. I think its is because my mom is really not handling it well. I being the oldest and the closest to her have this all on my shoulders. I really needed last night to just relax.

Thanks Shelly and Ooops I did not get his name or I forgot it like I forget thing regularly anymore, anyway thankyou both for making me laugh for the first time in a while. Hope to see all of ya next month.

Well gotta hit the road and back to reality!

Karen
