Friday Roll Call
Hi Karen -
I'm sorry your going thru a hard time. I thought something was up since I had not seen many posts from you. If you need a shoulder to lean on, I'm here. If you need to talk, send me a pm and I'll shoot you my phone number.
It was good to see you last night but your right.. I hate not being able to make it around to see everyone other then a wave here and there.
I hope you have a safe trip home and please, take care of you Karen.
HUGS,
Christina
Hello, life sucks around here lately and that's why I haven't been around much. If it's not one thing it's another it seems.
Right now I am getting ready to take Tyler and Jacob to their dad's and Austyn to his grandparents. I plan on taking Mike out to dinner somewhere because we really need to talk about a lot of things.
I hope everyone is doing well and healing great!
Love to all!
I am up, been to work, worked my tail feathers off, also had a BBQ with the rest of the work team. Told our crime prevention officer to shut the F up (yes I dropped the F bomb!!) because he made fun of me wearing my Halloweeny sweater today. It was all in good fun and if you do not tell him where to go he goes full throttle ahead and makes fun of you in front of others. He is a lot of fun and does it in jest and not to be sarcastic. Him and I go way back as we went to grade school together and really, really have a lot of history together. He is one of the funniest people I know ASIDE FROM DR ROSEN THAT IS!!
I really like the tips that Briana gave us at group last night and what others mentioned also. I will add to what you said with my tip - Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Christina and Calvin's dish was fantastic. It had so much flavor to it with the curry. A person never would even know that it is missing fat and other bad things for you. The flavorings really added to the taste of it.
I will mention that lap band patients probably do not have the alcohol effects that RNY patients do. Other than the fact that they have a pouch similar to a RNY patient has; they have the stomach still attached after the band. RNY patients have the pouch attached to the intestinal tract at the bottom end. Alcohol goes pretty much into the blood stream after it empties out into the intestinal tract. So, think really, really hard before you have that drink (s) at a party or function. Make sure you have a designated driver with you. The effects of the alcohol are intensified with RNY patients and I am going to guess also with DS and also with other malabsorbtive patients. I process too many DUI reports in my line of work, please do not be a statistic on a police department's records desk or in a hospital's ER trama unit.

I'll tell you the truth Christine-I was sent for a flying loop when I had my surgery in May and they gave me liquid vicodin. I was buzzin' cousin! The next dose- same thing- I was back in the 70's. This time the nurse left the container on my tray, so when I was sober enough to reach it, I saw it was 7% alcohol. I have taken vicodin in pill form many times and it never affected me like that- but not having a drink in over 17 years that liquid rotgut sent me flying! And I had to fight w/the nurse to have the meds changed! She didn't want to bother Dr. Kane on a holiday week-end. We had a few choice words-end result I got crushed vicodin and Voila!-no more trips down a bad memory lane. So it affects lap-bands too. After that, I won't even chance an O'Douls! Have a great week-end-Hugs-Janet K
Hi Christina and All the Illinois Board,
I am fine and working hard at Super Cuts. I am enjoying my work there.

So at 0730 I am going over there to help her.
I must be home sick for Denver. I booked a flight for January of all times!!!!! I hope there isnt a snow storm then. I will go for my 5 yr check up at that time with my surgeon. I have to call on Monday and get on the books for then. Ill also go and see my PCP there.
