Take a deep breath and relax sweetie..  Your surgeons office or nutritionist should give you an outline of what is acceptable on your liquid diet.  The first few days may be a little difficult because your body may be trying to figure out what on earth you are doing to it but you'll be fine.  Keep focused on the end result.  Just keep reminding yourself of the reward once you complete that liquid diet.. You get to have surgery, become a new, healthy, Shana~ As far as not being able to eat anymore..... I thought the same thing but to be honest, for the most part, I can eat whatever I want if I choose to in smaller portions.  I have not had bread and I don't eat any kind of deserts with sugar but I'm telling you, there are some amazing deserts out there that are made with splenda and are really good.  I don't eat them very often but if I want a treat, I'm not going to deprive myself I just make sure it is made with splenda and only eat a bite or two.  It's all about making healthy choices.   Good Luck to you! I echo what Christina said to you but also want to add that you are not going to not have some of your favorite foods ANYMORE just because you have had WLS. You are just going to be eating smaller portions of them or the same foods but cooked in a healthier way. I try to focus that there aren't any bad foods just bad quantities. When you have been cleared by your doctor to eat foods as tolerated and have lost your weight according to his protocols then you can treat yourself on occasion. Remember you are not being punished to eat "weeds 'n twigs" for the rest of your life just because you had WLS. Many people think that you can never eat a tiny bit of something sweet of great tasting, we can have good food just not all the time. Touch base with your doc's office about what to have so you have exactly what they want you to have while on the liquid pre diet. Christine
