Thursday Roll Call

OK......I'll Bite! After work I need to go to Wally World to pick up some Hershey's Kisses so that Olivia can make at least 4 dozen Peanut Blossom cookies for her Girl Scout Troop.  They are raising money to go to Georgia next summer and will be packing the cookies into tins and selling them at the mall the day after Thanksgiving.  More power to her!!!!  I will not be eating cookies, baking cookies OR going anywhere NEAR shopping on the day after Thanksgiving!!!!  I don't particularly care for shopping on a regular day! The boys have Scouts tonight, so it will be a good time for her to bake. How is everyone else doing out there today?

Hello.... I usually dont post on the roll calls, but hey, gotta start somewhere!!! I am quite nervous today because my pre-op testing is tommorrow, and my surgery is on Wed., so I am pretty much a wreck with this liquid/protein diet right now. Oh, how I want to have one cheat meal before surgery!!!!!LOL Other than that, I am here at work, at CDW, bored as of right now, and about to start attending meetings, meetings, meetings, until like 430. Pretty much, this is how my day is going so far!!!!

Hey Shana! Try not to be nervous........easy for me to say, I know. Don't worry about the "last cheat".   The liquid diet is to help shrink you liver so it stays out of your doctor's way.  That is a GOOD thing.  And although you might think you will "never have _______" again, you probably will........just in a much smaller, more healthy "normal" portion.   I am just over 1 year out and I can eat just about anything I want, I just don't want much (quantity). Come here for support, that is what we are all here for, to help each other out! I hope your meetings weren't too boring......

You work at CDW, which office? I know a girl that worked downtown across from Union Station and now she is up at the office off of Rt 60 near Vernon Hills. Sheena worked with me at the PD for a couple of summers and holiday seasons. She is a real sweet heart and I miss her, great worker. Christine

OLa` to all my IL buddies-I'm out of the shadows for today!  Had an early am  appt. and labs w/my cardio doc, heart wise I'm a steady Eddie-lung wise - she says I sound like a violin and ratted me out to my pulmo doc-so he upped the steroids!  So, hello celery sticks -Dog farts-I hate these things! We were happy to see I lost 3 lbs since my last visit to her in spite of no fills and all these puff pills, so my world is a little brighter today!  My "darling" husband, and that is very dry and sarcastic, has to work the holiday, so there's a good chance it might be pleasant if the witches of Endor I gave birth to take some pleasant pills!  But the best will be to be w/my grand kids-Sunday when I went to my grandson's party, I was sitting pretty much alone, as my son-law's family is cliqueish and some times downright rude.  Up the stairs like a herd of cattle comes my Justin-the oldest-15-grabs me and hugs the wind out of me-all the while he's jabbering"Nana, Nana I drove here-Mom let me drive here-I couldn't wait to get here and tell you."   Then his sister, my only Princess, she's almost 12, plopped on my lap-I now have one- and just snuggled  and we had our" I love you-I love you more " war.  She says-" Nana- I love you- you are always so sparkly!'  I was mush!  You can't buy that w/all of Donald Trump's $$$$$$!  My WOW moment.  Enjoy this great fall day-Hugs to all- and take care to all of our post-ops-good to see George join us on the loser's bench!

Janet, I am so glad you are out of the dumps. My DH works most holidays and most weekends. I work Mon-Thur. He at least  is off Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, He iis closed on Xmas Day.  Aren't Granddaughters  great? They are always cuddly to Grandma. But then again, I only have one grand, and she can do no wrong.  Lisa

I have not fallen off of the face of the earth, I am still here. I have just been so busy getting ready for vacation. We leave tomorrow morning at 8am for the Dells. Dawn, we will say "hey" as we pass near the 176 exit and on our way to the state line. We want to get up to the Dells for lunch and enjoy our time away.  We are so ready for this 9+ days away. With the Chief's secretary being gone for most of the end of September and all of October and we lost one of my part timers in records to do her job - I AM READY FOR THIS VACATION!!!  Well, I will have my 'puter with me up north and have free WIFI so I will be able to check in most days when I am not shopping at the outlet mall! .
